Measure the length and width of the room (in feet) then just multiply the two numbers to give square feet.

To convert your 2 dimensions to square feet you have to multiply them together.
12.5 x 13 = 162.5 square feet.
You do not give the size of floor panels you want to use
To find out how many panels you neeed, divide 162.5 by the square footage of the panel
eg, 12" x 12" panels are (1x1) 1 square foot so you would need 162.5 of them.
24" x 24" panels are (2x2) 4 square foot so you would need 41panels

Buy 154 sq ft of flooring.

The general rule of thumb is to take the area of the room plus 10%. However, if you are not covering the entire area (say you are not going to floor underneath an island, let's say), you can deduct that area. 14x14 = 196 square feet + 10% (19.6 - say 20 square feet), means you'll need 216 square feet of flooring.

You can devide it up how you want. 675 squar feet is like having 675 one foot by one foot squars so a room that is 10 foot in one direction and 10 foot in another is 100 square feet so 6 of those would be 600 square feet and say a room that was 7.5 foot by 10 foot would be 75 foot
