You shouldn't have any trouble as the chargers for most 12 volt car-related equipment and accessories tend to be generic and interchangeable. I have accumulated at least half a dozen as I expect have many people...

The output of an unregulated charger will be nominally 12 volts but the actual output will be higher and open circuit voltages up to 17 or 18 volts isn't unusual. When connected to the load the voltage falls to around 14. The charger typically supplies around a third to half an amp.

When pressing a regulated or switch mode power supply or charger into service the marked output voltage is the actual supply voltage and not the nominal voltage and so you are looking for a voltage of 14 - 14.5. Such a supply will typically be rated at a higher current but most jump starters have internal circuitry to regulate charging.

Are lithium Ion jump starters any different from normal jump starters?

Since you are looking for new charger for you husband, I would advice to buy these lithium chargers only as they are far more compact than traditional ones and are safer to use.Lithium jump starters are new and different battery chargers from tranditional ones. They were introduced in 2013. Amongst the recommeded ones, I would advice you to buy PowerGo or DB power jump starter as these are the most powerful and affordable ones. What is the charger part for JNC300XL jump starter

you should have a red and yellow button on one side Right above it is a small AC adapter hole for a plug in charger.. IF you cant find the cord or you lost it, You still can charge it by hooking it up to a running car red to red and black to black for 10 mins and it should give it a good charge, IF fully dead leave it for 20 mins or hook it up to a battery charge low amp like 2 amps and leave it for 5 hours and do 1 hour each month unless used to start a car.
