It's probably in penalty mode wait 5 minutes and see if it acts differently. If it's in penalty, every time you push a button it starts penalty over again If it does you may have a bad keypad
call your local safetech and he should be able to troubleshoot it and fix it

SOURCE: sentry safe, enter codes and nothing

These safe are easily opened by a good locksmith. So if you have items in the safe you need to get out a safe and vault tech could drill it open and repair it for a small fee. I really don't think it is the chip probably just a stuck solinoid.

How do I change the battery on a winchester gun safe door?

Winchester uses several different brands of locks. You need to be more specific as to the lock that is on your safe. However, most batteries are contained in a housing on the under side of the code entry pad.

S&G batteries are usually removed by simply pulling slightly forward on the tab on the housing on the base of the lock. The housing will then drop down and you can change the battery.

Some locks will actually have the battery contained inside the code entry pad housing which can be removed by grasping the entire key pad housing and rotating the housing a few degrees counter clockwise, and then pulling the unit straight toward you.

Some locks may require you to remove a screw, but most do not.

A more specific description of which lock is installed in your safe will allow for a more specific answer. A picture also helps.

I have a Regent digital electronic safe model MOT SFN37E. I still know my code, but after changing the batteries I can't open it any more with my code. I also lost my key.

If you can get the door open (which I've seen several procedures for), you can reset the panel with the red reset button on the inside of the door on the hinge side. It will beep and the orange LED will light up solid. Now you can type your 4 digit code, press B, confirm code, press B again et voila!

Where do i get instructions for changing the code on my hardline digital safe. The instruction paper that came with it appears to be for another safe. the paper mentions a red button where no red button...

I had this exact same problem. Then I realized the red reset button was actually INSIDE the safe itself. So you need to enter the factory default code "159" to open the safe, then on the inside of the safe next to where the batteries are is a red button. If you press that, the yellow light will flash and you'll get two beeps. That means you can now enter your own combination. I hope this helps.
