change voice mail settings

Try deleting all or some of your texts, i think its because you might have to many texts.

I have had this trouble too, and the answer is remarkably simple - with the handset DOWN, press the [i] button to access the menu. It sounds like the error you had was from doing it with the handset off the hook. Hope this helps.

You can enable visual voicemail by following these steps:

1. From the Today screen, tap Main Menu > Visual Voicemail.
2. An informational message plays. Tap NEXT when it ends.

1.Press the "Menu/Select" button.
2.Use the up or down arrows to navigate to the "Voicemail Setup" option and press "Menu/Select."
3 .Navigate to the "Access Number" option and press "Menu/Select."
4 .Use the number pad to enter your voice mail access telephone number provided by your telephone company. Use the "Mute/Remove" button to delete any numbers entered by mistake.
5.Press "Menu/Select" to hear the confirmation code.
6 .Program the "Password," "Play," "Erase," and "Skip" options following the above steps, substituting the "Access Number" option in step three with the option you desire to program.
7 .Dial your voice mail by using the "Voicemail" button on the telephone.
8 .Listen and follow the prompts provided by your telephone company to set up your voice mail's greeting.
9 .Use the "Voicemail" button any time you wish to dial into the system to listen to voice mail. Use the programmed "Play," "Skip," and "Erase" options to navigate through your messages.

Hi,If your account is enabled for voice mail, you can receive voice messages in your Inbox and also in a text message on your mobile phone. Both the message in your Inbox and the text message will include a preview of the voice message in text.
How do I set up voice mail?

1. Go to https://outlook.com to sign in to your mailbox, go to Options > Voice Mail tab, and then click Set Up Now.
2. When you set up your voice mail:
* You'll register your mobile phone number.
* Text messaging is set up. You can choose to be notified in a text message that you have voice mail or have missed a call.
* Call forwarding is set up so that your mobile provider forwards calls you receive to your voice mail. So if you don't answer your phone, your phone is busy, or you're unreachable or unavailable, the caller will be sent to your voice mail. If you do not exit voicemail with *, you will get a text message with a couple of symbols. In that case, go to text message menu & delete that message--the icon on the main screen will disappear!
