How do I find the model number for my Singer sewing machine? The model number is not on the machine. The serial number is B684078. It was made in the early 1900's.

470952 looks more like a serial number than a model number for a Singer branded sewing machine. However, the known Singer serial numbers that do not have a letter prefix start at 611,000. These early sewing machines do not have a model number. You can find some Singer manuals here: http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/manuals/singer-sewing-machine-manuals.html . If there is a three-digit prefix to the model number on the sewing machine label, then you have a Kenmore branded sewing machine. Some of these manuals might be online. However, without the prefix, I can't find the correct manual. You can try here: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/ . Manuals for Kenmore sewing machines made before 1990 are probably not online.

According to the appropriate serial number lookup table at ISMACS.net, http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html , the Singer AP232068 is a model 603 allocated the serial number in October 1964. The machine may have stayed in the Singer manufacturing plant for up to two years after getting the serial number.

Many Singer sewing machine models can be found from the serial number lists here: http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-sewing-machine-serial-number-database.html . AE249154 is a model 15 assigned the serial number in September 10, 1936. G1019270 is a model 27 assigned the serial number January 16, 1911. It can take over a year or two for the machine to move through the factory and reach the dealer after being assigned a serial number.

For the Singer sewing machine, AF 591876 is the serial number, not the model number. See:

It looks like that serial number is for sewing machine model 221.
