It is my understanding that Cuba is the only remaining "dictatorship" in latin america, and some would argue that even that is different from other "military dictatorships" because it is a socialist state lead by a centralized communist party, with power centralized first in Fidel Castro, and now his brother Raul Castro.

If you want to bypass your dictatorship's (or school's, or company's) restrictions to free internet - try a proxy website, for example: slyuser.com where you don't enter facebook.com in the address bar anymore, but in a special textbox. In theory such websites could steal your passwords, but so far (couple of years) I haven't experienced any fraud.
