Had the same problem + a weird noise, which turned out to be ice build up on the blower fan. Unplugged overnight and then opened the lower back panel. There is a small fan that blows over some small coils at the bottom of the box. There is also a drip pan that should be "full" of water. I sponged out the drip pan, put the panel back on and then plugged back in. Works great.

Hi,
I have the same problem with the E47 code. I had the service guy over and he brought a troubleshooting sheet. Basically, you must remove the door switch assembly and check the PTC (the white plug on the door switch assembly). According to the diagnostics sheet, if the switch is open or locked, then it is a doorswitch problem, but if the reading on the switch is ~ 1500 ohms, then its the control panel.
The reading on my PTC was ~ 1400 Ohms (which is close to 1500) so I ordered a new control board. I'll post again when it's re-installed.

I had the same problem until last night. I hooked up the camcorder with the power supply and the USB to the PC and when the window on the camera gave me several options, I chose the "Plaback on PC" option - first option on my camera. The Power Cinema NE for Everio program will probably open. Close out of that and go to my computer and double click on the drive that shows your Everio camera. you should see 4 folders. Your video is in the SD_Video folder (probably a folder named PRG001). You can double click it to open and make sure. If it is, go back and right click on SD_Video and click copy. Minimize the window and paste it somewhere (obviosuly a blank area) on your desktop. Then go to your programs and open the Cyberlink Power Director program that was installed with the software that came with the camera. Then just add your files from the desktop and make sure they are in the pane on the right side of the screen. When you have everything you want in that right window, click produce and set your settings, speed, etc., and off you go. Mine took about 15 minutes to copy to a disk. Good luck. Hope it works.
