There is no medical evidence to support 'cough CPR', which suggests you can help yourself by coughing vigorously if you think you're having a heart attack and are alone. Could something called cough CPR save my life
if you are alone and unable to call for help to get you to hospital you can try taking deep breaths and coughing hard with each breath as if you were trying to get sputum out of chest. do this every few seconds till help arrives, the deep breath brings in oxygen, what your brain needs to live, the cough compresses the chest which pushes the oxygen to the brain, some times it will even shock the heart into the normal beat. but get to hospital ASAP
no
in fact it may bring it on
sever coughing places strain on all of your organs including your heart
go see a doctor or cardiologist for a proper diagnosis
No. So-called "cough CPR" is not endorsed by medical authorities, and is deemed ineffective when having a heart attack. You'd do better using the available breath asking someone to call paramedics.
If you are in a deserted area and you believe your heart has actually stopped, well, try it, nothing to lose, but that is a desperation viewpoint.
