You have at least one bad LED in the panel and its shutting down the power supply...for future reference a bad Tcon will not cause loss of sound only affects picture

Thanks Larry. I am not sure when you say bad LED in the panel. Is this something I can buy and replace? Also i want to mention one thing, if i disconnect cable from power board to main board, the panel lights up. Thanks again for your help. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

That is normal on most sets that the panel will light up if the main board power is disconnected as it takes away a lot of protection circuitry, don't run it that way for very long or it could take out something in the power board. You could take the panel apart then plug it in and see what LED's aren't lighting and mark them and replace them...you can buy either full strips or individual lamps but I would just replace the strip giving issues and chances are its just one, way easier

Thanks again Larry. As you said took the panel apert and checked the LED lights, all of them are lighting fine. Seems some other issues, what else could be the problem? Thanks for your help

SOURCE: Samsung TV won't turn on- trying to fix it. A challenging problem

I had the same problem. I live in NJ and called the local authorized "service provide" listed on the Samsung website. What a joke. Quoted $350 just to show up, never showed up. So I opened my own TV. Took off the plastic back (10 screws) took off the large metal RF shield (12-14 screws) and noticed a blown component. The markings on the component were KL15L and it is apparently an NTC Thermistor. Obviously it got fried and not knowing if there was other damage I decided to set out to replace the entire Power PCB Board Assembly and not the component. There were two part numbers on the assembled board (BN97-00457E & BN94-00622E). After searching online I also found a suitable replacement number for these (BN96-04896A). I found two places who claimed to have the part or have it on order (shopjimmy.com and vancebaldwin.com). After placing orders with both and having neither come through, I broadened my search and found out that the LNR409D was basically the same model as my LNR408D so I looked for its Power PCB Board Assembly part number which turned out to be BN41-00521B. Google search for that part number showed the item available on ebay. I bought it a week ago (ebay 260311519904) for $144 plus $12 shipping. I removed the bad board an hour ago (6 screws about 7 connectors) installed the new one, plugged in the connectors, replaced the covers, plugged in the TV... AND IT WORKS!
Suggestion: If your TV is out of warranty then open it up (what have you got to lose) and see if the problem is obvious and maybe something you can fix (replace) yourself. The parts, spare boards, etc. are out there if you look.

SOURCE: tv won't turn on 4 blinking led

Hi,
Red led blinks 4 times is an error code that shows that fan is not running in tv, check fans connections and make sure all are plugged properly.
Thanks.

SOURCE: 50 " Phillips Plasma tv. Screen is black, blinking red light.

Sounds more like blown/exploding capacitors on the PSB-Power Supply board. No OSD-on screen display a blinking led or chatter/relay clikcing at startup is the tv going into fault protection and bypassing the startup pins. The YSUS-Main controls the pic which is attached to 2 buffer boards the YBU-upper YBL-Lower. They control the upper and lower portion of the OSD and the YSUS controls both of them. Since you're getting No OSD you need to check for blown caps on the PSB first. Unplugging the set resets the error again. So you start all over again.

I have a samsung UN60FH6003F T.V, the T.V makes a sound when you turn it on like a boot up sound but no picture. The red LED in the front blinks 6 times and then goes black.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, or the LED light stationery; the main board is faulty.

My Samsung 40” led wont turn on and little light blinks 5 times. I have changed the power board and the main board!! What’s next???? T CON board???

Tcon won't cause this issue, check the voltages from the power board with it on and see if they are all right, sounds like you may have got a bad replacement board

Samsungtv, when turn on red light blinks 6 times.no display, no sound. Replaced power, main and tcon boards, all seems to be ok.have also checked led lights all of them fine. what could be the problem?

Almost sounds like you received a defective replacement board, check the various voltages coming from the PS board and see if they are ok, if they are then the PS is working and you can eliminate that board

Samsung TV (model UN40H6203AF) 40" LED. No picture, have sound. Flashlight test can see faint menu screen. Have replaced power supply & main boards to this point. Ideas as to what to do next?

Hi Terry,

If you can see the faint picture in flash light means the power supply and the main board is working. The real culprit is the backlight. Even one bad LED in the backlight will switch off the whole array. To repair this fault the panel has to be opened and the defective LED or LEDs are to be replaced.

This is a complicated, delicate and risky job and must be attempted by an expert only. You may end up damaging the screen permanently if you have not done it before and try to DIY.

Have a samsung TV UN40H5203AFXZA will not turn on. When plugged in the stand-by light blinks seven times and goes off. Changed power, main and Tcon boards. 3 lights come on the Tcon board but go off.

Please un-plug the cable between the main board & the power supply, apply the AC power to it, if the back lights come on & still on, replace the main board; if the back lights did not come on, mostly the problem is defective back light LED strips.

Samsung TV pitch black, no picture. Red light is sold, blinks when attempting to turn on or off.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary. .
