In some program languages character strings are subdivided into sections called tokens. The subdivisions are based on the rules of the language. The process of subdividing the character strings is called tokenization. When the process fails you get the message "Failed to tokenize". The reason for the failure would be found in the rules for the language and program being used.

If you use another anti virus/spy program like Norton Antivirus which i suspect you are as you are using Norton Internet Security then you may not need Windows Defender running at all. If you think that Windows Defender is the culprit stopping your Canon application from running then why don't you stop Defender from running.
Open the Windows Defender program, click on Tools->Options, select Administrator Options, and uncheck the "Use Windows Defender box". Confirm that you do indeed want to do this, click Close.
Restart your computer and try running the Canon application to see if it has helped.
If it has then all's well, if you want to run Windows Defender again just follow the above steps and re-check the "Use Windows Defender" box again.
If this does not work please post back.

Are you running a firewall (such as zonealarm)? It might be your firewall may be blocking a legit attempt by lsass.exe to run. You may have to add this to your firewall's allowed list. Of course if you are not running a firewall or if your firewall is already set to allow lsass you may have even greater problems.
