SOURCE: porter cable roofing gun

The problem that you describe could be caused by three things. First remove the cylinder and look for a black rubber band around the cylinder about med section. There is an indention with holes where it is supposed to be. The band should fit snuggly so that it does not slip off during use. Secondly, check that the piston oring/plastic ring holds the piston in the cylinder without just dropping under its own weight. Third, the upper bumper could have a crack or missing piece. Remove it and check. (vinyl part in headvalve) Parts are available at dewalt repair center or www.toolpartsdirect.com. enjoy

Take your gun to the tools section and ask the man or woman that works there what kind of fasteners you can use.

or

visit www.arrowfastener.com and search your machine.

It should have told you in the box what to use ...oh yea, you tossed those instructions.

I hope this helps you

SOURCE: hitachi nail gun,piston/nail push rod

You have one or more worn o-rings in the head of the gun. They direct the air to the proper parts of the gun to first drive the nail then to return the driver to the top of the gun for the next nail. Depending on the manufacturer and your model number, some companies make kits to replace the o-rings (always replace all of them). For some companies you have to get a breakdown of the gun and order each o-ring seperately.

Hitachi nr90ad framing nail gun fires one nail then will not retract fully and dry fires. Have to push firing rod back manually.

Have you disconnected it from the air source and deep cleaned the nail gun? Sometimes even a tiny bit of dirt can block the rails the rod runs in. Once cleaned add a small amount of oil to the rod runners.

How do you remove the front hub to remove the stuck nail

If a nail is stuck between the driver and nose of the gun, you will need to forcefully push the driver back into the gun. Remove the head and cylinder and place the body of the gun on piece of plywood with nose pointing up. Using very sturdy steel rod, hammer the driver down. The steel rod needs to be slightly thinner than the driver to allow for the stuck nail. I use a broken driver ground thinner on the side that will need to bypass the stuck nail. Careful when striking hard steel with hammer, could spinter (I use a heavy brass hammer). Good luck

Will a 1-1/4 inch nail fit in the ET-100?

Unless you mean ET200 I would say no. The 200 will take an 1-1/4" brad nail.

Don't know how to load staples in my powershot pro

Usually a black tab toward the back of the staple gun.
Push in, pull up and pull out.
Push rod, spring and assembly should slide out easily.
You can then reload as needed.

Push in, pull up and when the push rod bottoms out push down.
This usually locks the tab back in place. Do this a few times and you will get the feeling pretty quick.

Good luck!
