SOURCE: Breaking Needle Thread Janone Memory

Several possibilities
1. The needle thread is not threaded properly.
2. The needle thread tension is too tight.
3. The needle is bent or blunt.
4. The needle is incorrectly inserted.
5. The fabric is not being drawn to the back when sewing is finished.
6. The thread is either too heavy or too fine for the needle.
7. Old perished thread. Use quality thread for best results.
8. Needleplate burred near hole, from needlestrikes 9. Hook is burred (Feel the tip of the hook under bobbincase with your finger....polish with 1600 emery paper carefully)

I had the same problem and after buying a new card, found out that you get that message if the pattern you are trying to transfer is too big. reduce the size of the pattern and see if that works

What size bobbin does a Jonome 4014 use

Do you mean the Janome My Excel ME4014? If so, the machine uses class 15 bobbins. One source is https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbins-janome-kenmore-elna-102261103.aspx? . There is also the Memory Craft 4014 which I think also uses the class 15 bobbins.

I hope this helps.

I have a Janome Memory Craft 9500. My problem is the memory card is acting up.

yes, but since you said the machine is 7 years old, & used extensively, then
I suggest to have to machine serviced if it has not been.
it could be a computer problem or mechanical problem

My Janome memory craft 8000 will only sew backwards and the screen shows step motor error. the machine is 19 years old. Is this fixable?

step motor error may mean the embroidery arm is out of position gently push it back home towards the machine and see if this helps. If the mother board is gone, they will not be able to replace it as its so old, but you may be able to get an 8000 or 9000 on ebayso you can still use your discs if you don't want to get a new machine

I want to sell my 1991 New Home memory Craft 8000 sewing machine

A good place to see what machines are selling for is Ebay. That's where I sold a sewing machine and an embroidery machine.

It helps to know your product and machine embroidery lingo.

What are cassettes? Floppy disks? These make the machine borderline obsolete.

Memory cards are still around, but most EM now have USB connectivity or USB flash drives.

Satin thread? Embroidery machines use Rayon or Polyester embroidery thread.

Having had the machine recently serviced is also a plus.

Janome mermory craft 8000 drop feed dog

I hate to sound dismissive but: read the manual. Duh. It is not as written above: drop dog........
The feed dog is the toothed pieces in the sewing machine deck, under the needle, which move the material away from you when you push the operating pedal.
Dropping the dog - ie making it inoperative - (see manual for how to on your machine) means the material has to be propelled by hand under the needle. This is especially good for freehand machine embroidery as it means you can move the material in any direction whilst sewing.
It can be easier to freehand embroider if your material is fixed in to an embroidery hoop to hold it flat while you work.
