ART#841.205 (PHONOGRAPH W/ CD & CASSETTE) Unit powers up, but does not play the phonograph when I move the needle arm, nor does the CD begin to play when I insert a CD and close the door. Is there a...

Could be two separate faults. First a switch that does not make contact when you move the arm. Then dirt on the CD lens.
If you can hear sound from any other function it is unlikely to be an IC problem.

I have the Philco suitcase Turntable CD player. Art No. 841.237. When I got it from my friend, she hadn't given me the ac adapter/power source. When I got it, I assumed she had given me the right one. I...

I don't know whether your philco is the same as my crosley, but I recently had an issue where the record player stopped turning and it bamboozled me to no end. After digging up the manual online, I found out that you had to lift up the tone arm and move it to the right (past the holding clip) until it clicked, and voila, the record player started spinning again.

I hope this helps!

My turn tabel isnt spinning

The drive belt has come off. Open the lid. Remove the rubber mat on the platter. Remove the C-shaped clip from the center of the turntable. Lift the platter up and off. Find the flat rubber band that connects platter and the motor. Plug it in and verify that the motor turns when you press power, then standby, then phono. If the motor spins, unplug power and place the drive belt on the underside of the platter. This is not easy, but it can be done with patience. Then put the C-clip back on and replace the mat. Congrats!.

Philco suitcase turntable / cd belt drive

Place the rubber band around the turntable and put a paper clip, bent up behind the rubber band. Start the turntable on it's spindle and you will be able to view that drive spindle on the right side, slowly pull the rubber band with the paperclip and drop over the drive spindle. remove paperclip and push turntable down seating it and replace the lock snap.

Reattaching Belt to Two posts

I had the same problem... Here is what I did. As the previous post mentioned, remove the black plastic turntable platter. You now should see the loose belt. If the belt is still good, place it back on the underside of the platter. You will notice there are two opposing plastic pins located at the outer edge of the platter. Pull the belt over one of the pins. Place the platter over it's chrome spindle shaft, with the plastic pin facing the motor shaft. after the platter is in place (don't put the "e-clip" on just yet...) rotate the platter a couple of turns. This should do the trick. If not, keep trying. It worked for me on the first try. After the belt is back on, secure the platter with the e-clip and replace the black rubber mat. Viola!

Philco 841.205 TurnTable spring and plastic armature pulled off HELP

Well it turned out that that 45 degree plastic piece DID or WAS attached to the main post. It snapped off. I super glued it back on and to each side of that very flimzy broken plastic I cut two very small pieces of wood (using popsicle sticks) and super glued THOSE to either side of the broken armature piece. Once dried I re-attached the spring and it worksd like a charm.
