Take it to the Apple store first. Only if you're not under warranty you can try a firmware restore. If that doesn't help it's a hardware issue with your logic board. The logic board can be replaced by a tech savy user and the part is available on common auction websites. You should take the simplest route and return the unit to the retailer. Something is wrong inside that unit, and you won't be able to fix it with simple troubleshooting. Anytime a piece of electronics is shutting off by itself, it needs to be repaired. Return the unit to the retailer and get a new one.
