SOURCE: Proform Treadmill doesn't run constant speed.

You have a friction problem between your belt and deck. A treadmill of this age either came with a waxed deck, or requires periodic silicone lubricant spray on the deck. You can check your owners manual to see which type of surface your machine has. Typical belt life on a consumer grade treadmill is about 2 to 3 years. If you purchase a new belt from the manufacturer it will come pre-lubricated.

SOURCE: Treadmill runs then stops. E1 error and sometimes works fine.

Yes if speed sensor is too far from magnet it will not pick up belt movement. This confuses the computer and as a safety precaution it shuts the machine off. Find speed sensor and check for proper alighment with magnet.

SOURCE: e1 error on york treadmill

You will need to check the speed sensor for proper alignment and function. it should be located near the front roller or mounted on the motor. It should be within a credit cards width of the magnet or toothed wheel. If properly adjusted check with an ammeter to see if it is opening and closing by manually spinning the front roller or motor flywheel. If it isn't replace the sensor. If it is functioning make sure you are getting 5vdc to it across the wires. If you are not replace the upper control board(console). If you are getting the proper voltage then replace the lower control board(motor controller).

It keeps displaying err 2 code

see this details and fix it. God bless you
This is probably a faulty speed sensor see the diagram attached, clean it and tight the plug very well.
2) test the input voltage motor, if there are voltage the motor is faulty and repair. 3) test the output voltage board, for input voltage motor , if there are NOT the faulty is control board or lower board. The error codes will differ between makes and models but could be e1.

E1 on display

You have 1)probably faulty sensor speed
2) bad connections with sensor speed tight.
3)main motor faulty
4)main motor board faulty.
the error code varies between manufacturer.

However please adjust the speed sensor the magnet with the side of the motor face to face.
Test the main motor if is not hot or not running with enough speed

And after you did that steps, the problem will be in the main motor board.

See the block diagram.

i just had a noise in my York T301 that sounds exactly the same as yours. It also came up with a E1 error code and stopped working. I pulled the motor hood off and noticed that the magnet in the drive pully had come dislodged. It was hitting the speed sensor near the belt. Glued magnet back in and all better. Hope this helps.
