A large short!. A short is a hot wire unintentionally touching ground- a metal piece of the frame. It will immediately cause sparking and blow a fuse. Also, an electric motor can have an internal short and blow the fuse for that circuit.
To find what is blowing the fuse, you have to follow every circuit that fuse protects until you find the source of the short. Look for burnt wires, like maybe too close to exhaust. Also a shorted wire can be bundled within a wiring harness, touching other wires and blowing a fuse. Since it is a main fuse, you will probably need a wiring diagram to trace all the circuits which that fuse protects. Try to isolate parts of circuits, like disconnecting the electrical connector at the ignition switch and then see if a new fuse blows. Keep working through each circuit like that until you see results. If some part or component is disconnected and the fuse doesn't blow, then you may be onto it- it could be that part you disconnected, or the wiring associated with the part.
Find a wiring diagram and see what all is part of that fuse. Good luck.

no car told, year,,maker ,model or country.(sad-face)
all things in there have a fuse and all are in sequence.
main and sub panels, cab and engine bay the mains are all under the hood near the battery main.
there are main fuse bank like 50 amps that are
feeding a smaller fuse bank to all other things
and CB too, circuit breakers, like windows, locks , seats and moon roofs.
why not just check all fuses first. (skip none?)
never hook up a car battery backwards or blow up expensive electronics you will, IT"S A NEVER TO< TOP OF LIST THING.
too late, sorry./

CB auto reset. so is not that , well, if the damage you caused did not short out the module it runs ,it will blow again.
shorts must be cured then fuses stop blowing; (ends the fire thing)
no car told , no exact answers are possible
the SM service manual covers all that. buy it?

I have a 2005 cavilier..it keeps blowing the main 30amp fuse when the ac is turned on..any help

you need to inspect all AC WIRING, to find the SHORT, thats causing the fuse to blow ! donot put another fuse in until you locate the shorted condition, ( bad connection, frayed wire, bare wire touching metal along this circuit, you might have a bad switch, your ac has two switches under hood, one @ high pressure side and one @ low pressure side. and your main control switch, check all wires & connections

Kia 2000 sportage auto keep blowing fuse when starting can you tell me what is wrong

well, blowing fuses is caused by a short, has the vehicle had anything done to it before the fuses started blowing ??? and what fuses are blowing, if it is the main fuses that are 200 amp, then it could be caused by faulty wiring, or bad earth.......trust me if it is the 200 A fuse that is blowing, you will be very happy that it is, because if the manufacturer did not put that fuse there, you would be facing a vehicle fire.....i would trace the fault, or have an auto-electrician diagnose for you

Battery connection

This is your main fusible link (fuse)

Replace the fuse with another 80A one, if it blows again you have a dead short somewhere on the main wiring, else it could be that you got some water in the wirng that caused the fuse to blow.

If it blows again, take it to an auto electrician to trace the fault.

Toyota Camry 1994 Main Fuse keeps blowing

-if your fuses are blowing
-the problem is in the wiring
-because if too much amperage flows through the fuse will blow
-there's probably a short to ground somewhere or high resistance after the fuses causing it to draw more amps
