Ok, you will need to go to hoover.com and at the bottom of the page you will see download manuels. click on this and it will bring you to another page asking for the model #. in the space put your model # in F5835900 (no dashes) then push enter. it will bring you to yet another page were you can print the manuel

Google in the web for the brand name and you should have an option for an instruction manual. That's just what I had to do for a hand held Dirt Devil Vacuum I just purchased and had no instructions with it. I then printed out the whole manual.
