Is it true that someone can copy the signal from you car;s remote control to unlock your doors?

Technically, any signal that is transmitted can be intercepted and decoded. That said, it is much harder to do in reality than one would be led to believe watching today's movies. We live in a world where all around us there are thousands of devices emitting signals at various times. Trying to capture one of these out of the many is difficult at best. Not to mention that most quality devices have coding at both the transmit and receive ends that makes theft and reuse of signal difficult. Unless someone actually got their hands on your remote control and had the knowledge and equipment to decode the signal, I wouldn't get too upset about the possibility of being hacked in this fashion.
