I turn on the tv and it shuts off after a couple seconds

I tried to turn on tv and it just shuts down off by itself after a couple seconds. had a technician look at it and said it would cost a lot to fix and it wasn't worth the money. tv is about 10 yrs old. technician says it happens all the time with this model after about 10yrs

If you unlpug your tv and plug back is the green ligth blinks for one minute?

Hello, My ws 55807 flashed 3 times when I plug it in. It seems to be working fine at the moment, but it was shutting down after a couple of seconds a couple of months ago when we were still trying to use it. I gave up on it and thought I would try it again. Please help.

Check for bad pico fuses. i picked up a FREE ws-55807 on craigslist a couple weeks ago that didnt work. found two bad fuses changed them and tv work like new.

The first couple of seconds of operation, most TVs are doing some self-test and if something has failed making full power on dangerous (for fire) they will shut down. Either a major component in the horizontal section has failed or the main power supply itself is defective.

Most likley what it could be is an interferance in the TV. Modern TV's have a feature that will shut itself off when it is not receving a picture. For instance, after so many minutes of "snow" it will shut off.sometimes this can make the TV think there is no signal at shut itself off.Anyway, I suspect its an interferance issue. Perhaps moving the TV further from the source of the interferance might help.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.
One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

KDF-46E2000 turns off then back on by its self
* Most common would be a couple of capacitors in the power supply that are not letting the proper voltage to the lamp.
* The lamp itself is not working properly.

Green flashes then tv turns off
or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.

Tele will not stay on
The tv has an error code thats its way of telling you there is something wrong so it shuts itself down to protect itself. I would have it looked at or call philips and they can tell you what that means. hope that helps.
