"Antenna" Appears on Roady XT Display

Hi,
The word "Antenna" always appears on the display for my Roady XT. I got a new antenna and it didn't fix the problem. It's not DirectConnect and it's a work van so I can't mount anything permanently anyway. Another thing I noticed is that the option to change the frequency for the fm transmitter disappeared from the menu.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

I just bought an Xpress XM package and there is no menu for fm transmitter on the radio. It talks about it in detail in the manual but it is nowhere to be found on the radio menu.

I periodically have the same problem. It starts up like it is going to load the station, but then only displays "Antenna".

I had the same problem, it says antenna when you turn it on. It seems that there is a small wire that stays in the radio side of the socket right in the middle of the socket. This fine wire breaks off . I think there is no known repair for this. I took a piece of fine wire from a wire brush, and poked it into the socket . Had to get one that was thick enough to stay. Then I plugged the antenna into it, it worked.

I have an XM roady that won't do anything except display Antenna I've called the help line and had no luck they just keep telling me to refresh now today i've talked with several people at work who have...

Go outside with the unit in the clear, and If it says "Antenna" - it means the connector for the antenna, the docking base or the antenna itself it usually bad. See if you can borrow a buddy's antenna just to see if the "Antenna" warning goes away. It could be the antenna & its connector, could be the docking base (make sure the radio is plugged in tight) or could be the radio (but usually isn't). Good luck and let me know what you find out.

I have a Roady in my car and recently I have been getting "no signal" and "loading" on the display....I moved the antenna to the center of the roof but it hasn't helped...Could my antenna be bad? Is there...

It is surely the antennae. I have had to replace mine a few times too. The thing is, where it bends, like near the plug connection and near the actual antennae wire connection, it just fractures a bit and that's it.
Pick yourself up a new one on eBay or Amazon, and no, there aren't really heavy duty ones and that wouldn't fix it, it is the wire getting worn.
Good luck!

Roady XT "Antenna" problem

one of 3 things, either your antenna is not insight of a skies view to receive the signal, or its wire is broken at the antenna, but if you remove the antenna connection frequently it pulls the center wire out of the connection on the end that fits into the radio when its plugged in push on the conductor at the back of the plug and see if this helps, alos if connection is loose take a safety pin and carefully between the outer plug case ans the ground fingers around the center pin push these in so you get a better ground, and lastly try another substitute antenna, I have re-soldered my connections numerous times to fix this issue, delphi doesn't make a very rugged product, good luck

Roady xt Antenna Problems

when it reads antenna it means there something wrong with either the connection or the antenna itself, it could be the location of the antenna or the antenna is going bad. if there is no obstructions on the car blocking the antenna i would advise purchasing a new antenna. you can get one at http://shopdelphi.com/consumers/satradio/xpressrc/

No FM Frequency option

I had the same problem with all three of my Roady XTs. I posted a video with directions for solving the problem on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGMWf0aUTjw

Basically, you just need to have the antenna unplugged when you power up, and push menu right away, then select. Not sure why, but it worked on all of my Roady XTs. On the oldest one I had to push menu more than once. Good luck!

Delphi Roady XT Quit Working

Chances are it's not picking up the XM signal. First, contact XM to resend your setup. if that doesn't work check your antenna connections.
