Do you have the same problem when you turn on the SP without a game in it?
Try turning on the system without a game inserted, and if it shows the Gameboy logo, the system is fine, and the game might be bad. If there is only a white screen, then the screen might have gone bad. Post results here when done. :)

When there is no game, still a blank white screen.
Thanks for your post!
We have a similar problem. We have no picture just a blank screen but no sound either. When I just turned it on to check if it has sound it came on fine. I turned it off and on again and it is completely blank again but the back light turns on and off.
I have a similar problem...
My son's GBAsp mostly shows the white screen you describe, or even a very light image that looks almost like a negative (the character's black hair appears white & the tan skin looks grey...), but sometimes shows the proper game image for a few seconds. Seems almost like I need to adjust the contrast - but there is no control to try that ;(
This happens even on the GAMEBOY logo screen with no game cartridge inserted. The sound does function correctly.
Any suggestions?
There is sound but the screen stays white. With and without a game in it.
Same White screen, no logo on startup just blank white.
Sound seems okay.
We've changed the cartridges, charged the battery.
I just noticed a crack in the display :(
