SOURCE: won't power up

This model has had problems with the keyboard buttons on the front panel, causing them not to work and canceling out the remote operation. To verify this, you need to remove the front panel so you can access the connector on the keyboard pc board and unplug the connector. After doing this, see if the remote control is able to turn on the tv (wait for it to power up because with the connector off, the green power light will be disconnected and will not light up when the tv is on) If the tv works, than you will need to change the ten individual switches on the board - part# 432P089010 (or just use the remote only)

SOURCE: Sansa E250 Black screen lighted wheel, wont do nothing else.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

SOURCE: my asus d1500t wont startup

Most likelly your motherboard went bad, but you can try somthing else before replacing your MB.
1. Remove your battery and try to power up. Your battery might be shorted.
2. Remove your hard drive and try to power up.
3. Remove your CDROM and try to power up.

Good luck.

SOURCE: My Lg Monitor wont show screen (Power Button Flashing)

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Sounds as though your ac adapter is bad.But it could also be the power jack where the ac adapter plugs in also.

hello sir, try the following.
  1. turn off the pc and remove the side cover, locate the memory module, and reseat it (remove and put it back). power on the pc. Still not working?
  2. off again, remove the memory modules again and clean its gold plated contacts by using an eraser (the pencil eraser) then put it back again. power on. still not working? do 1 and 2 several times. (make sure that the memory modules are good)
  3. If several times has not worked, try to isolate the problem by removing all the connectors except. 20/24 pin power connector, the vga cable, front panel leds and switch. do 1 and 2 again.

Hit power button and nothing other than lights flicker once

Remove everything from the board except the front panel hookups.Make sure you remove memory, video card, hard drive and cdrom cables, hard drive and cdrom power, anything plugged into the back except the power. If it will power up this way start plugging things back in between power cycles. Start with memory then power down. Then add video then power down. Continue with Cdrom, then hard drives. When it stopps wanting to power on you know where the issue lies. If it wont power on with nothing on it then the motherboard is probably bad. Hope this helps.

Acer Aspire 7004 wmsi Will not start.

When you press the power button does anything happen? such as lights or LED's illuminate?

You could try the following -

1. Make sure there is nothing plugged into the computer (USB devices or memory cards etc etc).

2. Remove the power cable & the battery

3. Press the power button for 30 seconds

4. Insert the charger but not the battery and try and start it up.

If that doesnt work check the USB ports for damage and the port where the charger is plugged in aswell.

If they are damaged or it still wont start it will probably need repairing.

No response, no turn-on, dead player! help!

Same thing just happened to my M260, did you ever get an answer? Thanks, Jeff. Problem: No response, no turn-on, dead player! help!by mtx410 on Aug 28, 2006 I was loading files, when the transfer locked up, and the computer threw an error. i couldn't do anything but unplug the player! After I did this, i tried plugging it back in, and half of the world "initializing" popped up on the screen, the first half was missing! it did not do anything more. so i unplugged it again. Now when I plug it in, nothing happens. The computer recognizes that new hardware is plugged in, but cannot recognize what it is. Nothing comes on the mp3 player's screen. It will not power up when i hit the power button. It has no response, it acts like there is no battery in it. I have taken the battery out, and put it back in. Nothing happens when any of the buttons are pressed, or when it is plugged into the computer. Is there anything I can do to get this thing working again! It is the M260 if that matters.
