Vent allows fresh/outside air to be mixed in with the room air when you desire some fresh air instead of just recirculated room air only.

It is best to allow some fresh air when the temps aren't all that high, or when it's not too humid, or when you have a smoker in the room, otherwise the same old (stale) air keeps getting passed through the A/C.

If you keep the vent closed, your A/C will usually keep the room cooler, as it keep cooling the existing room air and can extract more moisture from that air, which is especially beneficial when it is extremely humid outside. In the most basic description, A/C is really just a dehumidifier with a cooling unit built in, which extracts moisture from the existing air and then chills it to make us people more comfortable.

Should the air vent lever be pushed in to get fresh outside air on a danby dac12010E air conditioner?

I don't think anyone is really understanding what you are asking. I had the same question with a Danby AC. For everyone else, this person is not asking what the switch does, they are asking if the "in" position is vent. This has a little plastic manual push/pull lever that the manual calls a vent switch, but does not specify which position of the switch is for what, and its all internal so you can't see what's going on.

My best guess is that pushing it in is vent, with my only reasoning being that the switch stops when pulling it in, but I've seemed to manage pushing it in too far, going past the intended stop. That leads me to believe that I'm just over opening it. I don't think I could over close it.

1995mbz cl200 headlights wont turn on why?

Does the switch seem tight? If it feels loose, it is the switch. Easy replace solution. Remove the Tweeter cover on the driver's side gently. Remove the two screws that hold the A/C vent and pull out. Pull off the switch nob and remove the nut on the switch. Reach inside and turn the switch towards the door and it will come loose. Plug in the new switch and reinstall in the reverse order.

There also may be a bad headlight relay.

Does the Frigidaire FAH106S1T Thru-Wall/Window Air Conditioner recycle inside air or pull in air from outside? Also, how do I close the vent on this model?

yes it does recycle the inside air - it 'does not' pull outside air in (in the air conditioning mode).
The 'exhaust/outside air' vent - 'if it has one' (some don't these days) will usually be a manual pull/push lever, although I guess it might be a electrical/electronic switch.
hope this has helped.

We accidently had the door shut on my friends 95 fork truck, and the keys were still in ignition. We had to break the ventglass window, how do we replace that? window

1st. Remove door trim panel by removing the screw retaining the armrest section of the trim panel to the door inner panel and remove armrest.
2nd. Remove the screw retaining inside door handle and remove the handle.
3rd. On vehicles with manual operated window cranks remove the screws retaining the crank, then remove the crank and washer.
4.th On vehicles with power windows, remove the power window switch panel by inserting a thin blade screwdriver between the bezel abd the trim panel, at either side of the bezel. Then carefully pry the bezel from the trim panel and the housing assembly will snap out. Remove the retaining screws from the bottom side of the connector and remove the switch assembly from the connector.
5th Remove door lock control knob on models rquiped with.
6th On models with power door locks, remove the switch housing assembly from the panel by inserting thin blade screwdriver into the spring tab slot located at the top and bottom of the switch housing. Apply pressure and the assembly will pop out. Disconnect the housing from the wirring assembly connector by separating the lock fingers.
7th. If equipped with power outside rear view mirror, remove the switch housing bezel by removing the two retaining bezel nuts and the bezel.
8th. Remove the screw retaining division bar to inner door panel.
9th.Remove the screws retaining vent window assembly to the leading edge of the door.
10th. Lower the door glass to the bottom of its travel.
11th. Pull the glass run out of the upper run retainer next to the vent window division bar. Pull the glass run out just far enough to allow the vent window assembly to be removed.
12th Tilt the vent window and the division bar assembly toward rear of the door. Carefully guide the assembly up and out of the door.
13th. Remove the two upper pivot-to-vent frame screws.
14th. Remove the retaining nut and tension spring from the vent vindow lower oivot.
15. Separate the vent glass retainer and the pivot stops from the vent frame and weatherstripping assembly.
16th. Installation is reverse of the removal procedure. The pivot tension spring should be adjusted so the vent will remain open at higway speeds. Be sure the front door window spacer is in place when installing the vent window and division bar assembly.

I know it is hard to picture it but this is best I can explain with out picture.
