It was not draining so i found a youtube video that recommended removing front panel and checking the filter. It also told me to tilt the washer to avoid spilling water. We tilted it but it was too hard to tilt and try to clear filter at same time so instead, I was able to clear the filter and used a shop vac to suction the water to prevent it from flooding out. That fixed the draining problem. But now because it was tilted something happened that the drum is off track; It still spins but not freely like before. How do I get it back on track? There was no problem with it before we tilted the washer.
I don't know what you mean by off track, but if the washer is noisy in the spin cycle you have a broken spider gear, how far did you tilt it,i never heard of that, you put some towels down, loosen the middle of the pump and when the water starts to come out you use a shop vac to catch the water, you don't want to tilt it because if something is in the pump you don't want it to slide back inside the hose you want it out,you can take the top off and there are two springs one on each side that holds up the tub and hooks onto the side of the frame or you might have damaged one of the shocks on the bottom, these are the things i would check but if it's loud in the spin the spider gear is broken from overloading and using to much soap,if you have an oder in the washer that's also from the soap, the metal on the gear is soft and the soap eats at it.if it's the gear you'd be better off getting a new washer,it's a big repair and expensive.hope this helps
Testimonial: "the two springs on the tub are attached and everything looks good so there is something wrong inside the tub.I am not sure where the spider gear is to check it but i am not having issues with using too much soap or overloading. This basket was fine until it was tilted. ugh"
i took the back and top off the washer and everything looks good as far as belt and pulley go. Looking at the diagram that came with the washer, it is the basket (i was incorrectly calling that the tub)that does not spin freely inside the tub. I guess I have to take the tub apart? If there is anyway to push it into place without taking it completely apart, please advise.
no,the thing that will happen to all these washers is the spider gear will rot,if you look in the tub on most front loaders you'll see a piece sign on the back wall of the tub, that's where the gear is,it'e three arms and a shaft comes off the center of it that holds the pulley on for the rear belt,go here and you can see ithttps://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-nu...
the problem is it's so much work and the part is expensive it would just be worth replacing the washer, sears want over 600 dollars for the part,it's the whole chrome inside tub or as they call it the spin basket,it just doesn't make sense to do this job more so if the washer is older because the average machine lasts 6 to 12 years, not like the older washers that would last 20 to 30 years.good luck, you'll know if it's the gear, put it in high spin,if you hear like metal kind of like a coin is in there the gear just started to fall apart,if it's noisy then it's gone, that's the easiest way to check it and the tub might be hard to turn
this is what it looks like and you can see everything has to come apart just to get into this parthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uDQaHiE...
one more thing when you cleaned the pump did you see pieces of the gear,it kind of looks like black pieces of stone or black sand depending on how bad it is,i've found this in cleanout before,
when i cleaned out the drain (the first repair when i took front off and opened white lid) i did find what looked like gravel. A good amount of it.
It appears sears has a lifetime warranty on the basket, which is the $600 part. Will that part include the part that wore away? I do believe you are correct with what happened. When I turn on washer it sounds like there is a stone loose in between basket and drum. so it must be another piece of the gear.
Thank you for the youtube video. i used the line on the dispenser to measure detergent. I will have to see if it is more than a tablespoon.
no problem, one more thing to check and i don't know if your machine is included but there are some class action lawsuits out there for this problem so giving whirlpool or sears a call if that's who you bought it from a call might be well worth it,ken more doesn't make anything you can only tell by the model number who makes it,like yours is 110 that's whirlpool, say if it's 417 that's frigidaire,so watch out when you by something with the kenmore name you might end up with an lg or samsung product.good luck with your washer and i hope i helped you out somehow with this.
yes the part will come with the spin basket,go here and you can see it,it's the part with the three arms and shaft attached to the baskethttps://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-nu...
ok so here is an update that i hope helps anyone with the same problem. I paid the $100 for the Sears representative to come out and tell me that the repair would require 2 guys, take 2 hours and cost $1800 less the cost of the part covered under lifetime warranty (basket ~$600) I of course thought absolutely not; i will buy a new washer; but then I asked if I could just have the covered part and I would do the labor myself. I already had disassembled everything. I just needed help to get the tub out. My boyfriend and I were able to get the tub out, remove the old basket. We thought based on youtube videos that the bearings would need replacement but they were fine. We also did not replace the tub which was recommended by Sears guy. It was really just the breakdown of the spider that was the problem. We reassembled the washer and it was working fine now and I only had to pay the $100. Thank you Sal for all your advice.
i.m very happy for you and great job, thanks for writing back and am glad everything worked out for you,1800 bucks are they nuts, they should honer their product and fix it for nothing ya right lol

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite HE3 washer
I found when mine doesn't drain there is a sock blocking the drain holes. Open the door and pull out the rubber gasket at the bottoma nd there should be around a half a dozen holes. Good luck!
SOURCE: Washer drum tilted
if possible change all three ..probaby right rear but others may now be stretched
SOURCE: Kenmore Oasis HE won't drain
I had the exact same problem last night.
Here is what I did and it fixed it with NO PARTS or SERVICE CALL.
First, I took the drain hose and Blew through it with my mouth... I got air bubbles to come up in the wash bason, this told me the drain pump and hoses were not "Clogged"..
Next I took a shop vac and a 5 gallon bucket and used the vac to **** on the drain hose to start a siphon into the bucket...worked like a champ... I had it drained in less than 3 mins....
I Took the back cover off and then the drain pump off and took the 4-5 screws out of the mounting bracket and took the pump cover off.
What i found when I did this was that there was a VERY SMALL FLAT ROCK stuck between the impellor and the pump casing.
WIth a small screw driver I flicked out the rock and the impellor was free again... HOWEVER, When you do this, the impellor will turn half way and stop... half way and stop, half way and stop...etc.........IT WILL NOT SPIN FREELY like a top. When the motor is still attached to the pump, the armiture in the motor still gives reisitance to the impellor...This I PRESUME this to be normal..
I ended up putting it ALL back together except the back cover to test it...I turned it to a wash cycle and let it run for a few mins. Then i hit stop twice to cancel that wash request. Then i started a second wash cycle and the drain pump kicked right on to drain the water left in the basin from the first test wash..... So far she's purring like a kitten..... Fingers Crossed of course...
SOURCE: getting the OE error message on LG Tromm
The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.
LG themselves have some information on this error code..
