I have 2 cockatiels, and for the longest time they didn't like each other & all of a sudden the are locking beaks and making kissing noises, we've had them for 11 years & this is the first time

I have seen the driver door switch do this very thing. Replaced it and fixed the problem.

If it's within warranty, I'd exercise that and get it fixed.

Usually, if it appears to run, but isn't heating, the magnetron has gone bad. It's not a cheap part, and not really a DIY (do-it-yourself) operation. If your warranty covers the part, that will help a lot.

Even if not within warranty, I'd have an authorized service center do the job. They should have a list of authorized outlets with your manual and other literature. They can also give you a quote as to how much it will cost - - only you can make that call.

I had a magnetron replaced once, it was spendy, but ~20 years ago, microwaves were a lot more expensive than they are now.

Hi there, this is a very common fault, you need to replace the drivers door actuator to stop the noise, ive done loads of these. hope this helps.
