Ryzen 7 1700x msi x370 sli plus 8x8 16 2666Mhz and no bios? hdmi connected. VGA fail light stays on?
Wrong CPU used, it has no igpu on die of CPU
4800 has it yours does not
so buy a GPU card and use
that
read the manual how to set that up in
BIOS (DEL)key (num lock off)
reset the bios if bios acts odd
jumper JBA1, with GPU card installed (page 37 RTM)
this will enable the card, to default it.
then what port works on that card (vast exist) some have 3video ports
and some only work in bios others not
higher end cards all 3 work, even HDMI
if DVI on card, use it first or via VGA to DVI adapter
if HDMI fails on card under BIOS.
i have boxes of cards here and all this is true.
try a GTX1650
not told at all
did this ever work before now? is this is a day1 build
photo of mobo and read connected now.
not old if this PC ran for you ever. (wow history not told and matter)
PSU has 2 power cables to mobo or mobo will be dead.
24pin and 4pin both, 4pin goes near CPU .
did you RTM yet,
see if BIOS infact supports HDMI> to TV?
many do NOT do that
your manual states this first.
Press Delete key, when the Press DEL key to enter Setup Menu, F11 to enter Boot
Menu message appears on the screen during the boot process
but forgets to say (DEL) caps lock key OFF !!!!!!!
VGA LED.
indicates GPU is not detected or fail
the GPU LED:
This LED indicates the CPU’s iGPU is not detected and you need to install a graphics
card.
there is no vga port so that must be error in manual as only dvi and hdmi
the CPU has dvi and hdmi, inside the CPU, if not it fails. some CPU are sold lacking any GPU, in the intel world its a fast Xeon, CPU
in the AMD world.
1700x has. no such iGPU
quote AMD.com
"Integrated Graphics
No"
so buy a GPU Card.
and do not expect hdmi to work, in bios.
or buy cheap vga card for $5 to check it all out.
one more fact with the card installed bios will
see that and bios will default to the card makers supported ports, some cards are VGA,DVI/HDMI 3 jacks
others are DVI ,HDMI and DP
use DVI or put cheap VGA to DVI adapter there.
your mobo has no onboard gpu.\
nor does 1700x have any kind of igpu.
you must buy one and installed it to PCi-e x16 slot.
upper slot.
the mobo jacks seen there are dead, due to the wrong CPU bought.
you did not buy this
The AMD Ryzen 7 4800U’s Onboard GPU Nearly Matches the GeForce MX250
see? this CPU costs more and is MORE.
their manual is not great, good sure.
does not really tell how to make bios work at all/
the manual starts at step 4 below(mine)
1: if CPU has no igpu , power AC disconneted.
2: install a GPU card now x16 upper slot.
3: jbat1 jumper per page 37 power cord hot.
4: now the card and BIOS works. (del) key numlock off.
warning some GPU cards, with say 3 jacks.(like mine)
only port 1 is supported on the card,
if all you have is 1 HDMI monitor or TV.
then use a hdmi only card.
newer cards work better. in this regard.
THE VGA LAMP LED REALLY MEANS gpu CHIPS ALL ARE MISSING. AND IS.
cheap CPU is missing that, but is no big deal
buy a real video card, buy only w10 up supported
ask
amd/ati list is here, https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gp...
Nvidia is more complex they have added more w10 support in the last 7 years. 2015 to now
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverRe...
click supported, this is bottom of he barrel.
the 8100 card is $10 used. and works. I have 3here.

SOURCE: Where is Cmos Clear jumper on motherboard to clear Bios password.
If you can't find the jumper, just remove the CMOS battery wait for 1/2 + hour and the re-insert the battery. This will reset the BIOS back to the default settings and you then need to set the Time & Date.
It may not remove the BIOS password if the laptop stores the password on an EEPROM chip.

Hi,
Kindly visit the following site
http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloadindex
Select the correct model number for your mainboard or motherboard and download the user manual for the same. It has details on how to reset the cmos or the board using the jumper settings
Thanks for using fixya

your bios can be reset to defaults by removing the CMOS battery, then moving the little blue jumper to the right of it from the 1-2 pins to the 2-3 pins fpr 10 seconds, then place it back onto the 1-2 pins, replace the battery and boot as usual.

You should be able to remove the password from the CMOS setting.
Just select F1 at boot up and locate the password section once you are in the CMOS Setting then clear it .

HI,
No need to worry. There are many known ways to reset / remove / bypass the password:
Now I'll try to explain each method one by one:
A. By Removing the CMOS Battery:
Almost all motherboards use a small coin sized CMOS battery to store
all BIOS settings along with the password. To reset the password, unplug
the PC, open the cabinet and remove the CMOS battery for approx. 15-30 minutes and then put it back. It'll reset all BIOS settings as well as the password and you'll need to re-enter all settings.
If it fails, then try to remove the battery for at least one hour.
B. By Using the Motherboard Jumper:
Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS
settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper
varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your
motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual
then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the
manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc.
When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and
the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin.
What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the
opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then
remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds
and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin.
Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper.
C. By Using MS DOS Command:
This method works only if you have access to the system when its turned on because this method requires MS DOS. Open Command Prompt from Programs menu and provide following commands one bye one:
debug
o 70 2E
o 71 FF
quit
NOTE: The first character in the above commands is "O" and not the number 0.
After providing the above commands, restart your system and it should reset the CMOS Settings along with the BIOS password.
If you are curious to know how it works? then let me explain the above commands:
In this method we are using the Debug tool of MS DOS. The "O" character present at first in these commands, outputs the values to IO ports. The number 70 and 71 are port numbers which are used to access CMOS memory. By providing FF value we are telling CMOS that there is an invalid checksum and it resets the CMOS settings as well as BIOS password.
