How do i get rid of account key and back to my password?

I don't know how my husband's Yahoo account got changed to account key, i want it back to password. We don't have cell service here, so i have to wait til i get out to main road for account key #' numbers.

Please try the steps below to disable account key for Yahoo

  1. Go to the Yahoo Account security page.
  2. By "Yahoo Account Key," click Manage.
  3. Click the toggle to the right of any device you want to turn on or off.
  4. Optionally, click Disable Account Key at the bottom of the screen to switch back to a password.

  1. From your Account Key enabled app, tap the Menu icon .
  2. Tap the Account Key icon .
  3. Tap Manage Account Key.
  4. Tap the toggle to the right of any device you want to turn on or off.

to change it, you may have to ask a few questions on help desk to retrieve it.or you could cancel the account and set a new one up. you should be able to change your account pasword through customer service then create a new one using the old email address. use a good virus sweeper ie avast or spy hunter to run a check on your system DO NOT use the XP doctor that comes up when you use the internet that itself is a trogen. and i would not recomend any norton programms thy can upset your system big time.

I assume you have already tried the the Yahoo sign-in wizard, which is used to help retrieve (or reset) passwords. See: https://edit.yahoo.com/forgot

If your password and secret questions yhave been changed. I would suggest going to the sign-in wizard, and select the option for "My account may have been compromised".

Yahoo is currently updating their servers, has been going on all weekend. I have just logged in at 11:05 am EST and it seems to be working correctly again.
I was having problems with mail on Outlook, on the website, and on my phone. Maybe the update is complete (hopefully).

Lost my password to yahoo messanger
Your Yahoo! Messenger password is usually the same as the password for your Yahoo! account.

(1) If you know your Yahoo! account ID and password, just enter that in Yahoo! Messenger. On the Messenger screen, clear the boxes for ID and password, then re-enter your Yahoo ID and password, then click "Sign on".

(2) If you don't know your Yahoo! account password, you will need to reset it.
Go to the Yahoo password page:

Cant get into my yahoo says the id orpassswords invalid i thank someone changed it how do i chance it back
if you think someone has changed your password, immediately get a virus scanner on your computer, someone has installed (via download) a "key logger" which tracks all you keystrokes allowing the to see what your typing, this would include credit card numbers, passwords and anything else you type. As for your yahoo account, you can write to them, but in my experience, they are less than responsive to their customers needs. the easiet thing to do is to sign up with a new yahoo account with new name and etc. Its a pain I know, but this happens all the time to people. Just be carefull what you download and allow to run on your computer, these key loggers are nasty and hard to detect and get rid of. Good Luck
