If your 6-disc CD changer in the trunk of your 2002 Mercedes CLK430 was working fine yesterday, but is now displaying a "No CD Changer" message, there may be a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the connections: Make sure the CD changer is properly connected to the car's audio system. Check the connections for any loose or disconnected cables. Also, check the fuse for the CD changer in the car's fuse box.
2. Check for jammed CDs: It is possible that one of the CDs in the changer is jammed, which can cause the error message to appear. Try pressing the eject button to see if any CDs are stuck in the changer. If so, try gently removing them.
3. Check the CD format: Make sure the CDs you are trying to play are in a format that is compatible with the CD changer. The CD changer may not be able to play CDs that are scratched or in a non-standard format.
4. Try resetting the audio system: Try resetting the audio system by disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes. This may reset the CD changer and fix any software issues.
If none of these solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the CD changer. It may need to be repaired or replaced. You can consult a mechanic or audio specialist for further assistance.
I dont remember if that year had a theft lock system or not, but I am looking into it. disconnect the negative battery cable for ten minutes and that should get you back to where you can enter the unlock code again and use the radio.

1998 porchea boxter cdc-3 cd changer, The cd changer keeps on changing tracks as if their are no cd's in the changer. keeps going from 1 to 6 and then changes to radio.
Look for a reset button at the back or may be at the front head of the cd changer. It is a very small 1mm hole.If you find it insert a paperclip in it,press and hold it for 1 min. This will reset the unit.If you still face the problem then just unplug all the cords of the changer for 1 hour and then plug it back in.
The CD player muigt be able to rescue by a reset top factory settings, mostly available in your manual, the cassette deck i think needs to be repaired.
My 2001 Lincoln LS has done this 3 or 4 times in the last 8 years. I disconnected the battery (for a minute), pulled the fuse, held the 'load' 'eject' button simultaneously for about 1 minute, banged on the dash, slid a credit card along the opening...prayed : ) For 2 days it wouldn't work. Then today I pressed the CD button and it worked. I immediately removed the one 'burned' CD that I had in slot 5, The only think I can think might have affected it was- 1. Put in a new CD that one of our local gospel groups made. 2. Weather had been quite warm, then 2 days ago, it got freezing cold outside again???? I don't know? Probably just an idiopathic occurrence. It is the Alpine head, LS sports package.
