It will not charge right. I been dropping calls. And having trouble getting onto the internet

You probably called their customer support or billing, which know nothing about technical stuff.
Wi-fi is completely independent from the cellular network, so it will not charge you anything. Wi-fi just connects to a wireless router, like the one in your home, if you have one. In other words it connects to the internet via someones home/office internet connection. I have a touch diamond and dont have a data plan, and only use wifi, works great..BUT:
If you do not have a data plan (pay as you go data) with Bell, IMMEDIATELY get a 'data block' on your phone, at first they might say oh it will not let you use some functions, etc, put insist, persist, and use force if neccesary as they dont like giving you a data block..It costs about $50 per mb if you use the pay per use internet! I think that was the 1X, but im not sure, its ridiculously high!

No, wifi is completely seperate from the cellular network. It will not cost you anything, but will depend on whether or not there are wireless routers/networks near you and if they are secured (with a password) or not. Wi-Fi is basically a home/office internet connection, just wireless.
For example, all starbucks has 'wi-fi'.
If you don't have a data plan for your phone, get a data block immediately from Bell. They dont like giving data blocks, and they say some functions wont work but they mean stuff that connects to the internet, which will cost you if you wifi isn't connected since it defaults to the cellular providers internet. It cost be about $12 for less than half a MB of usage. Their rate per MB is more than $50, im not kidding.. just checked my bill. If you just got the phone you can get the charges reversed just say you didn't know it would connect to the cellular web and that it cost so much etc etc. They should be lenient if you just got the phone etc...

try taking the phone into verizon sales and service store phone may need repair or replacement
SOURCE: Hinge broke on my Verizon LG VX8350 phone
I called customer service and spoke with someone different who is sending me out a new phone free of charge.
SOURCE: had 3 of this vx8350 from verizon break on the same right hinge.
I have the same issue and am considering cancelling my Verizon service because they won't replace it without paying $50.
