Okay, go to your manufacteres website, (if your pc is dell then go to DELL.COM)
then in the website of your manufacturer go to the drivers download tab, or support by product, and input the serial number of your machine, once you have, you will see a list of the drivers that are the latest, just go to the bios tab, and download the latest update you need..
NOTE: some pcs wont let you jump bios versions, for example if you were to have version 4 and the latest is 9 then the bios update will not work, and you will havee to install all of them in order to get the latest one.
i hope i helped you!
Testimonial: "Lenovo does not offer any further updates for the original IBM machines any longer. so unless someone has a bios update down load for this 8189UNU M50 desktop they have saved back along. the lat and latest update is the july 6 2005 that is in it now. thank you for the thumbs up anyway ! Bill !"
SOURCE: Can Windows 7 be installed on X05? I get ACPI
The only issue i can see is if your your ram has not been updated since leaving the factory, you will notice from the tables W7 requires a min of 1GIG and your machine leaves the factory with 256mb(dependant on country possible) so check your ram.
I run windows 7 on 2GB and its great, your machine will take 2GB.
The Samsung X05 was released 2004 and the NVIDIA Geforce 4 should be fine.
i would point out drivers and compatability but windows 7 so far is really good but driver support is crucial
hope this helps

Why would you require a BIOS update? It does not factor with an OS change. Instead concentrate on drivers being supported by Win 8.
Upgrading
BIOS! If it isn't broken don't fix it. Upgrading is a scapegoat fix, and many
manufactures have a disclaimer. "You are on you own, and the likes for a
reason. Most solutions are found elsewhere.
However,
if you truly need to update read this to help you with the upgrade. You don't want to end up with a brick.
