SOURCE: chain fell off chain saw remington 10

Look from the side of the saw the motor/engine to left and the bar nose to the right. The thinnest part of the chain (sharpened edge) on the top of the bar is to the right.

Reinstall the chain. Do NOT connect power. Mark one link (chalk, crayon, etc.) wear gloves and try to rotate the chain one complete revolution. Is this possible? No - remove the chain and remove burrs from the sides of the drive links with a flat file.

Yes - inspect the sprocket gear (KEY NO. - 11) pn 111363-01 new pn 122520-01 NLA, is it deeply grooved or perhaps worn through?

I'm going to get smacked as I have so many times before. The only thing RemingtonPower is producing today is unhappy customers. Replacement parts are exhausted. we aren't affiliated and had nothing to do with their decision to stop production.

Burrs on the chain or a defective sprocket are the most likely causes of your problem. If the gear is bad, there are no replacement parts available and I cannot help you further except to recommend you purchase a name brand replacement. Select a company you think will have replacement parts when you need them sometime in the future.

Chain adjustment

  1. Make sure the chain brake is off (gloves will protest your fingers).
  2. If necessary, loosen the bar nuts that are clamping the clutch cover in place (or whatever holds the clutch cover and bar on). They don't need these really loose - finger tight will do.
  3. Ease the tension adjustment until the chain is obviously loose.
  4. Using one hand, hold the nose of the bar up.
  5. While holding the nose up, adjust the tensioner so that the center of the chain just touches the underside of the bar, add a touch more.
  6. Continue holding the nose of the bar up & tighten up the bar nuts / bolts / quick-release system.
Your rating of our help is the only payment we get for this service. I provided as much help as humanly possible. Punishing me for your disappointment with RemingtonPower isn't fair to me. I hope I answered your question. Thanks. A few kind words would be appreciated.

Chain adjuster on Maxtra pole saw problem

Contact Jack's Small Engines for parts.

The Bar adjustment is normally a nut that screws onto a fixed threaded bolt. My advice would be to replace the nuts with Nyloc nuts and grip washers or use Loctite Red on what you have.

I can zoom in on this image, but the resolution isn't good enough to see the bar fixing clearly.

How do I easily assemble pole saw?

pole saw is a wonderful machine that has a small curved saw blade mounted on its long handle and used mostly for pruning hard-to-reach branches. Now, if you have already learned about its functionalities and got a hold of them, you must be very excited to use it. But, working with a pole saw can never be easy without its being ready. A proper assembly is a key to that readiness.
No rocket science indeed! We're explaining the whole job easily and legibly.
STEP 1 Knowing the parts and components is a crucial factor. You should know what an average pole saw includes and make sure you have got all of them. A usual pole saw consists of the main body, pole saw, chain, bar, cover and hex key that contains screwdriver attachment.
STEP 2 The next step is to uncovering sprocket on the main body. It can be done by taking the hex and unscrew the pocket over the bolt. Rotate the hex in an anti-clockwise direction and take the cover out of the body.
STEP 3 As the cover is removed, the following task is to organize the chain and straighten it. In this case, if the chain should be in the right travel direction. If it is not in the right direction, you should loop over the chain and set in a way so that the teeth adjust with the bar.
STEP 4 When the chain is set properly, you should link the chain drives to the bar groove afterward. You should connect the chain carefully and ensure that it is attached accurately. Otherwise, a chain that is not fixed correctly may lead to a serious accident.
STEP 5 After the attachment, a loop remains at the end of the bar. Now, take the bar and place the loop on the sprocket and adjust the chain with it also. Before you do it, you should loosen the tensioner pin with the help of your fingers. It is done to confirm that the tensioner pin passes through the tensioner hole on the bar.
STEP 6 As the chain and bar are fixed to the sprocket, it is required to tighten the chain tensioner screw so that the bar and chain can hold and stay on the sprocket. The screw needs to be tightened completely in this matter.
STEP 7 This step involves covering the sprocket. Take the cover and insert rear tab into slot. Just placing it in the slot does not secure its placement. So, to attach the cover take the hex key, put in the bolt and turn it into clockwise direction but not too tightly. The cover is lightly fixed so it can create room to work with the tensioner.
STEP 8 You should remove all the slack from the chain by turning the chain tensioning screw clockwise. By doing so, the chain and bar stay in its place safely. After this, tighten the sprocket cover bolt using the hex key again.

How to tighten chain on 4620avx poulan pro

First, RTFM- read the manual. Lost it? No problem, download it from Poulan PRO website page for PP4620avx. Pick a version you like, save and read it. Google is your friend.
Chain Adjustment Part cut and pasted as follows:
Adjusting the tension:
Chain tension is very important. Chain stretches during use. This is especially true during the first few times you use your saw. Always check chain tension each time you use and refuel your saw.
1. Lift lever on bar knob and turn counter-clockwise 1.5-2 turns to loosen clutch cover.
2. Turn adjusting wheel (downward direction) to tension chain until chain solidly contacts bottom of guide bar rail. Lift tip of guide bar while adjusting tension. Tighten chain Adjusting Wheel
3. Use a screwdriver to move chain around guide bar to ensure all links are in bar groove.
4. While lifting tip of guide bar, tighten bar knob securely (clockwise).
Hand tighten only.

Be careful not to destroy the adjustment mechanism. When it breaks, go for a clutch cover with the simple adjuster that needs a "scrench". Longer term, learn how to search this info. Saves time. Now you can work on sharpening chains- very important.

108526-1 pole saw

I bought this chain without first examining the "count" of my old chain. I found this new chain had 39 drive-links while my OLD chain had 40 links. My 10" Remington saw had enough chain-tensioning adjustment to compensate for that missing link and this new 39-link chain runs fine... cuts very well. Happy.

The chain jumps off all the time no manual supplied with it

There should be a bar adjustment screw or mechanism somewhere under the guardplate where the non-visible end of the chain is. This pushes the bar outward and tensions the chain so it is not slack and comes off.

REMINGTON POLE CHAIN SAW

The chain has to be tensioned when replaced. You lift the chain away from the bar about halfway and the tangs that run in the bar should just almost come out of the groove. There is a screw that extends the bar near where it attaches near the sprocket. adjust that with the bar mounting nuts not quite tight till the chain is tensioned correctely.

I am looking for a manual for remington pole saw, model 108526-01

Here is a link to the instructions to replace a chain and tension it properly... http://12.153.20.74/manuals/113556-01A.pdf. Here is a link to the owner's manual you requested...
http://12.153.20.74/manuals/108539-01L.PDF . If your chain is new they will stretch quickly during their break-in period and will have to be tightened frequently. Once they have been used for a while they will not have to be tightened as often. Sometime if you also need stech and fall off quite a bit. If you need a replacement chain (8SC), you can find them oline at www.masterparts.net. Also, if the guide bar nuts are not tightened securely the bar will not remain in adjustment. Make sure that the guide bar bolts are tightened. I hope this helps!
