I've been gifted a Janome 2070 with no manual, I have hunted high and low but I can't seem to find one on the web. Anyone have any ideas where I can check?

The Janome Memory Craft 3000 uses a low shank snap-on presser foot with a presser foot holder for most of its standard presser feet. See page 17 (page 19 of the PDF) of the User Manual available from Janome on the retired machine support page: https://www.janome.com/support/retired-machine-manuals/ . For specific presser feet that originally came with the machine, see page 3 of the manual (page 5 of the PDF). You can get presser feet that are known to be compatible at most sewing machine supply vendors, including https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/janome-memory-craft-3000-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?filter.ptype_gmcfeed_1=%20Presser%20Feet&index=39 or https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/janome-mc3000-parts-accessories.php . A few presser feet have their own shank and require you to take off the holder.

it sounds like the machine has a short in the wiring somewhere,,
it would be a good idea to have it checked.

We need to know the model number. Is it a Memory Craft 3000 or 9000? Another model number? Also, be prepared that as a Janome you will probably have to pay for the manual IF it is even found. They are tough to find.

Get back to me with a comment back on the model number and I can do a specified web-wide search. I've also got a number of specific sites I use to look for free sewing manual downloads, but Janome's are tough ones to find. I promise to leave no stone unturned, though! That's a nice gift to get!

Direct from the Janome workbook E3 error relates to:
"Stepping motor for tension release (MC6500P & MC6600P only)"
Ensure there is no lint or thread trapped between the discs of the top tension unit.........try "flossing" where thread goes down thru tension unit with a scrap of clean fabric.
It may also be the mechanism that releases tension when the presser foot is raised....it is a sensor and may be out of alignment...not really an easy home fix.
