Value is too difficult to determine as there are too many things to consider. You can try searching the internet for recent or current machine sales similar to yours. Remember Singer made thousands of each model and a lot of them are still in existence.

According to http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-p-series-serial-numbers.html , the P481131 serial number is for a 15K. The assembly of the machine started in the first half of 1901. I can't help you with the value.

I hope this helps.

You have a model 221 which was made on May 24, 1938 at the Elizabethport factory in Elizabethport, New Jersey. There were 20,000 of those made during that particular run which may have been over a few days.

Its value depends on its overall condition and what someone is willing to pay for it. Sight unseen, I would estimate market value for that machine in good running order at between $250 and $400.

Value is very subjective depending on its rarity, overall physical condition and operation, the accessories included, etc.

I have an old Singer Treadle Sewing Machine but do not know where to locate the serial number to help find the value. Where should it be located?

Hard to say. Serial numbers can be found almost anywhere. Sometimes they are stamped in the metal of the base, maybe under the machine. Check the edge of the base if it is installed in a cabinet. Machines like this usually have only a serial number, no model number. The serial number will designate the model number on this list:

Don't expect it to be worth a whole lot of money. Most of the time, their biggest value is to the owner who can continue to use these awesome machines for many years yet.

Value of a 100+ year old Singer Treadle sewing machine

Singer made hundreds of thousands of sewing machines over approximately 150 years, so unless yours is a rare or special "design" model (ie Red Eye), it is probably worth what someone is willing to pay. Unfortunately, most older machines are sought for collectability, not for their actual sewing use. Machines improved over the years and most sewists would prefer machines with added conveniences, ie zig-zag stitch, decorative stitches, needle threaders, presser feet & accessories. Frequently, the accessories that came with the older machines are large and not as refined for doing intricate work.

If you like the machine, then perhaps you should keep it to use for your own projects.

Singer 15nl

It is available on the Singer Sewing Machine site; unfortunately, there is no free download available, but it's only $3.50. As to the parts, there are several sites that cater to antique machines, and you may be able to obtain what you need there, if you do a search.

I have an old pedal operated singer with a serial # plate that says G7565177. Just wondering how old it is and how valuable it is?

Hi! I love old Singers!!! Your machine was made at Singer's Elizabethtown factory in 1919-1920. If you call Singer at 1-800-4-Singer or email them at [email protected], they can tell you what model it is.
As for the value of your machine, there's no way to tell. Appraisals of antiques requires hand-on evaluation, and an appraisal of an antique dealer would be of its value purely as an antique. Sewing machines were really mass-produced and the old ones are solid and sturdy--all metal. They were built to last forever with minimal maintenance and that done by the user. So far, they have an excellent track record of lasting forever, so a good many of them are still around. They aren't rare.
The old machines can be cleaned up and restored. The leather belt on the treadle can be replaced and the machine can enjoy many more years of service. Check out http://www.treadleon.net/ or http://www.ismacs.net/home.html for more information.
Happy Sewing!
