How do I update the maps in my 4 year old Navman Problem with the Navman NavPix N40i GPS Receiver

Hi,
There are no more map updates for that device because it's discontinued. Navman should be able to offer you a trade in towards a newer device. try and give them a call.

my wife has got the maps on to computer but cant get them loaded onto the navman n40i what is she doing wrong to load to satnav.thanks dave

Solution to get GPS Navman N40I working with Windows Vista.

I solver the problem (most of it) by uninstalling the old activsynk witch was delivered with the manufactory CD. Then I downloaded from “http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center.mspx” Windows Mobile Device Center. After installing this software I connected my Navman N40I to my PC and waited to for the Mobile Device Center application to load. When it tried to gain partnership with my GPS I removed it. Voila, and the SmartST Desktop 2006 SE application was able to communicate with my GPS.

I installed the SmartST software and went to Setup -> Update Software -> Update Software on Navman.

you have a small button on the side of your navman, an ON/OFF button! put it in the OFF state, leave it for a few minutes and then put it back ON and it should solve yourr problem
