1968 Mustang w/collapsable steering collumn. Why does the shaft move in and out about 3/8 inch where it exits the fire wall when turning the steering wheel full left to full right

Well, 3/8" is not that much for such a classic car. I would inspect the rag joint and clamp while an assistant moves the steering wheel. Its been awhile since i had the column out, but i would get under the dash with a good light and observe for any movements. Its very possible something is worn and needs to be rebuilt.

Need diagram for ford f250 steering column

Ford F-250 has used several different steering columns over the last 50 years of production....which one would you like a diagrm for?

With that said, the best place to get GOOD service information for your steering column would be at alldatadiy.com. For a small anual fee, you can access all of the same information I would use if you were to bring your truck to me for repair. They will have step-by-step instructions with diagrams for disassembling and reassembling your steering column.

I need a detailed schematic of a 1990 ford f250 steering wheel column that includes directions for disassembly and reassembly

Go back to the dealer ,chat the storeman up nicely and he will print you off the parts picture so you some idea where it goes ,this vehicle is so oil that nothing is complicated about this motor as i repaired a 350 1989 model last week and apart from getting the plugs out after they had been in for 15 yrs their was nothing i found difficult ,just big and heavy with its twin rear wheels and a complete brake rebuild as well .Still think a ford transit diesel is a better motor though because at our fuel prices here in europe ? need i say more

Steering column feels loose on 1999 grand marquis

Here's a company that has a description of how to rebuildthe upper portion of a Ford steering column (for a small fee). They are broken down into step by stepdetailed instructions with pictures. Although the example is for a 2000 Mustang, the column is identical to yours (tilt and non tilt use the same housing) http://www.steeringcolumnservices.com/steering-column-repair-how-to-instructions/ford/upper-housing-bearings%20replacement-instructions.phpI hope these instructionshelp you.

1968 ford mustang brake line diagram

It's pretty simple. The front line from the mastercylinder should go into a tee, then from the tee to each front wheel. The rear the same way. No proportioning valve is needed with 4-wheel discs.
