SOURCE: Endless Summer Patio Heaters won't stay lit

Hi ColdinSF,

You need to remove the covers from the unit and blow out the gas lines with compressed air. If you can remove the gas lines blow out the lines and what they connect to like the pilot light and main feed line to the burner. Usually they gunk up with use and just need to be blown out with compressed air to clear the lines again. Maybe you have some dirt or foreign object from your gas tank which has clogged the line. Also check the igniter electric lines as well and make sure everything is connected properly. Especially make sure you tighten the gas lines you remove. Hope this helps.

Regards
Bryan

I have an older Amana Prestige ii air conditioner and I need the tonnage, serial number or model number. The tag information over time has disappeared.

Can you read the plate on the compressor? If so, you can determine the BTUs from there. Roughly 12,000 per ton.

I have removed front cover on amana model ptc153b35am unit says it has got a manaul reset for heater cannot locate it can you help

The manual reset is a small switch on the computer control board. If that doesn't fix the problem, while you are there, you will see 2 small black boxes wired into the computer board marked "heater 1" and "heater 2". These are relays, one of which has probably gone bad. You can either order a computer board for about $100 or replace the relays yourself with a soldering gun. You can order the relays for $4.02 apiece from Digi-key Corp. Part # is JTN1aS-PA-F-DC5V for the relay.

Where is the Manual Heater Reset Switch on an Amana A/C and Heater Unit Model number PTH093B35AJ? The unit has several stickers that state it has a "Manual Heater Reset Switch".

Almost certainly it is a bad relay on the circuit board. Sometimes you can slap the side of the unit by the control box to temporarily unstick the relay, after which the heat will come on for a cycle or two. There are two relays on the circuit board marked "heater 1" and "heater 2". You can order a new circuit board for about $100 or replace the relays at $4 apiece (order online from Digi-Key, requires solder connections). Part number JTN1a-PA-F-DC5V.

I bought a display model and it did not come with a manual. How can I get a manual?

It should be as simple as posting the brand and model number to the internet or even at the amana website. A PDF manual should be available.
