SOURCE: Video out problem

I own a DMR-ES20 and had that problem. Panasonic Customer Service gave me a fix that works.
On the unit itself, press STOP and PLAY at the same time for about 10 seconds. This fixed my player.

SOURCE: Grundig GU22 DVDP LCD TV. No image on screen.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Why are all the lights on LCD screen on?

How to troubleshoot and fix video problems
Here are some tips and tricks for troubleshooting and fixing laptop video problems. Video issues are very common within portable computers and with the following tips you should be able to detect and eliminate basic laptop video problems.
Laptop LCD screen has a faint image.

all-lights-lcd-screen-4ztirbadqll2ypvmakqp10pq-2-0.jpg
Look at the LCD screen very closely and check if you can see a faint image on the screen. It's possible that the LCD lid close switch stuck in the "closed" position and the backlight stays off even when you open the LCD screen or turn on the laptop. The switch turns off the backlight when you close the LCD display to save the laptop battery power. Check the LCD lid close switch. Usually it is a small plastic pin located close to the LCD hinges. Try to tap on the switch a few times to turn on the backlight. If after tapping on the LCD lid close switch the backlight stays on, you fixed the problem.
It is also possible that after tapping on the LCD lid close switch the backlight works fine, you see a normal video on the screen for some time and then the backlight turns itself off again. In this case I would blame the FL inverter board. Try to reseat cables on both end of the FL inverter to make a better contact between the cables and the FL inverter board. If it doesn't help I would try to replace the FL inverter board.
Laptop LCD screen is solid white color.

Most likely it is just a bad connection between the LCD display and the system board. I would try reseating the video cable connector on the back of the LCD screen first and check if it fixes the problem. After that I would try reseating the video cable connector on the system board. I would also try reseating cables if there is no video on the LCD screen at all.

Try to connect the LCD screen to an external monitor. If the external video is fine, you have a problem with the LCD screen or the LCD video cable. You can try to fix the problem by reseating the video cable on the back of the LCD and on the system board.
If you see the same garbled video output on the external monitor most likely it is not the LCD screen problem. In this case the system board (with onboard video) is bad or the video card is bad.

Ps3 plays in black and white with av composite cable

Some newer TVs do not have the traditional "yellow" video input, known as an "AV" connection. Even without that input, you should be able to use the standard three-color Wii AV Cable that came with the system.

What to Do:

  1. Look for "component" inputs on your TV. These connections have a row of five differently-colored inputs (green, blue, and red for video, white and red for audio). If you have more than one set of component inputs, it's the first set that generally works with standard AV cables. Look for a set that has a green input with yellow around it, or the word "video" just above or below it.
  2. Plug the yellow end of the Wii A/V cable into this green "Y" input. Plug the white end into the audio "L" and the red into the audio "R." Leave the blue and second red holes open.
  3. composite_inputs_window.png
  4. Turn on your Wii console and set your television to the input select being used.
  5. If you are seeing the image from the Wii in black and white, try the following to get the image in color:
    • Cycle through your television's input channels (usually with the "Input Select" or "Source" button on your TV's remote control) to find the input select that has the image in color.
    • If you're only finding the image in black and white, you may need to switch the setting of the input select from a component signal to a standard AV signal. This can be done by:
      • An on screen menu option. This is often accessed by using the "Menu" button on the remote.
      • A button on the remote that switches between the standard and component signals. These can be labeled such things as "AV" or "Video."

How do I attach my dvd to the 42 inch tv to watch a movie? Do I just attached the RGB connections?

An HDMI cable is best however a set of Component cables will also work. The Component (RGB) will also carry a high def image. You will need five cables in all. The Red, Blue, Green for the video and two additional RCA cables for audio (red and white). Color match the inputs to both the DVD and the TV. Select "Video" source from the Input menu of the TV. Confirm this worked.

I have problems with my LCD HAIER TV. I put my USB and now i cant return to TV Mode. What i should do?

There should be a button on your remote that says "TV/USB". Try clicking it, that should take you to a blue screen that says No Signal, click Input, and you should be able to access your cable from the list of Input sources. This happened to me today, very annoying and unnecessarily confusing, especially since most buttons you press result in a screen that reads "Not Available." Urrgghhh.

When the power button is pushed, the screen lights up white but no programs begin. It just stays on that white screen. What is wrong?

What make and model of laptop? Can you get plugged into an external monitor. The white screen is caused by no video feed to the lcd - just the backlight is coming on. This may be due to a loose wire on the lcd cable in which case you will get an image on the ext. monitor (you may need to press the fn+monitor select key which is noted by an icon on one of the F keys). No image on an external monitor will mean a problem w/video or mobo OR just corrupted video drivers - but you will get a logo and access to BIOS in that case. If you get the logo and then white, press F8 to go to safe mode w/VGA drivers and reinstall video drivers. JC
