Your set may have a defective wi fi detection circuit that is causing all the grief. I had to return a laptop for this reason.
Maybe the signal is weak - try raising the router as high as possible off the floor and also try putting a deflector behind the router to direct the signals in the direction of tv set to maximize strength.

now.. you need to find out if both routers support bridging.. you need to look into both router's configuration page, I couldnt find you router's manual and you did not posted you dlink router's configuration.

DG834G is a modem/router, it is not a range extender that could extend the range of the wireless signal from the Belkin router.
