Apparently the gfci on the plug (the reset button) has gone bad. The best thing to do is to purchase a new cord and replace it. These switches sometimes go bad. Good Luck

May tag window air conditioner 8000BTU #M6X08F2A. Water blowing out A/C vents. I have 2 and both do this. Thanks so much

Hello Ron,
The water is from condensation.
  • These units have to have a pitch. Your units are mounted too straight (90 degrees), the pitch or inclination is supposed to be around 2 to 3 degrees outward ( toward the back of the unit)
  • And also there may be a rubber plug on the bottom of the AC for drainage. It has to be taken out.

Hi, my Frigidaire AC (FAA068P7A) unit was working fine last year. Put it back in the window today and now it won't power on. I checked the power cord, but cord is fine (I actually opened up the machine...

Sounds like a breaker has tripped (caused by the unit) or is it might just be 'off' for some reason. I would check the outlet (where the AC plugs in at).

If the AC is a 110V unit you can check the outlet by plugging in something else, i.e. a hairdryer. If the hairdryer doesn't work either - then you know your breaker is tripped. On the other hand if the hairdryer 'works' then you know the problem is in the unit, where I'm afraid you'd be better off to have a technician to trouble-shoot it, although you could try sending additional information at this point for more help.

Remember if it is a breaker tripped - it was probably tripped by a malfunctioning Air Conditioner so if it 'trips' again in the immediate future you will need someone to check it out.

good luck!

Fan works but not blowing cold air

Is the compressor running? If it is then you are probably low on refrigerant and needs to be leak checked and recharged.

Window unit will not power up

You need to check for voltage to the display. Just knowing the plug is working doesn't tell you that the electronics are getting power. It is possible that the power cord is bad. Once you have tested the unit and the unit is actually getting power to the display, then it's probably the control board in this unit.

Unit stops working and I need to unplug unit

After 7 years of great service you should retire this system and replace it with a new unit.

Products made these days are not built for quality, that was back in the good old days, it's 2008, things are made to only last a short period of time.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I will only tell you the best solution for your problem and not waste your time running around trying to fix something that may cost you more than replacing the problem you already have.

Have a Great Day!!

Wont blow air

Sounds like the blower motor or capacitor has failed. Either part should be checked and replaced by a licensed contractor.
