Wire placement on switch of DeWalt DWD520 hammer drill

Here are the wire placements for the switch of a DeWalt DWD520 hammer drill:
  1. The red wire from the motor goes to the top left terminal on the switch.
  2. The black wire from the motor goes to the top right terminal on the switch.
  3. The white wire from the power cord goes to the bottom left terminal on the switch.
  4. The black wire from the power cord goes to the bottom right terminal on the switch.
It's always recommended to double-check the manual or contact DeWalt customer service for confirmation, as wire placement may vary depending on the specific model and year of manufacture.

I have a dewalt drill model #dcd970 where the brake is not working. What could be the problem? And how can I fix this?

you would need to replace the switch, the brake is internal. BEFORE removing the switch make a wiring diagram to help in reassembly and make sure the wires don't touch the motor. The switch is polarity sensitive. You can either get one from dewaltservicenet.com or ereplacementparts.com, you can also try and locate a service center or authorized repair in your area at the Dewalt site. Let me know if you need more assistance

Where can I find a wiring schematic for a DW223G?

Unfortunately, Dewalt does not provide wiring diagrams to the public. You may be able to get one from your local Dewalt service center. If you do not have one locally, Let me know what wires you are unsure of, maybe I can still help.

Hello, I have a dewalt drill cordless 12V. I have taken the casing off and want to know how I want to know how I get to the brushes. It has stopped working and suspect that it is the brushes. I am not...

I fix cordless DeWalt drills every week!Look for two black carbon-like blocks found on either side of the commutator ( the central spindle ) they will each have one wire on the outside end attached to a spade connector so the brush can be easily removed by prying it out from beneath the spring holding the brush against the commutator.  Then the wire can be removed and the new brush installed.    Go online to http://www.toolpartsdirect.com and search for your model dewalt drill. they have an exploded diagram and parts listing for each model drill.  That will identify the brush for you if you have never seen one before.    If the drill was operating intermittently with lots of noise and usually blue sparks coming out, loss of power, increasing intermittant operation it would almost certainly benefit from replacing the brushes.   If it is simply dead, and was ever dropped.  check the battery terminals and the trigger mechanism.  Of course inspect the battery and check inside the drill for loose or broken wires and connections. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
