If your netflix is still showing an empty or black box..then simply delete it if allowed and download it again...it is possible it has lost the drivers for this particular setting and will re-establish when downloaded..good luck

Likely the Netflix app just got stuck. I would turn off the tv, disconnect it from power for about 15 min to be sure all power drained and then plug it back in, launch the app and see if it's working.

1. Check your input and make sure you are on the right one.
2. Check your internet connection.
3.Check to make sure your TV doesn't have to be on a certain channel. Some are like the TV's of old and have to be on a certain channel.
4. Check your connections. ALL wires plugging into TV at both ends---the TV and whereever else they are plugged.
5. Check your TV for updates.
6. Make sure you don't have TV parental controls on.
7. Go to Netflix on a computer/phone, and make sure all is good with their site/ your account is good/ no parental controls on.

That';s all I can think of. Hope this helps, I believe one of them should do the trick.
Good luck
Paul

Often Smart TV apps will not tell you there is a new update- they will just fail to work.

I would delete then reinstall before resetting the tv to it's defaults. That usually works.

Sometimes it is on the server's end (Netflix's fault). Remember many of the apps will upload data from their companies before loading, sometimes you just need to be patient because the server is down on their side. Simply just waiting a few hours or a day or so will have it working again- try contacting Netflix customer care and ask them if it's a known issue before driving yourself crazy with futile solutions.

It probably runs ANDROID OS like your phone (unless you have an iPhone) Usually prolonged pressing of the OFF/ON control will reload the operating system. Remember these "smart TVs" are only big computers running Android OS in one box. It MUST be connected to your internet router either by Wi-Fi or cable. If it still don't work - send it back or call the service guy from where you bought it and remember the Hisense is a cheapo china made thing

SOURCE: black area on screen,

Hi omsoc,

This could possibly be an issue with closed captioning. While some closed captioning is a marquee-type text near an edge of the display, your television may have an option turned on to display a different channel of captioning that would likely display a large black box on your screen if there is no data to display. This would explain why this would take place suddenly at the same time each night, as well as why pressing the display button would cause it to disappear. I suggest you look into your menu to try turning this option off, then watch the channel you normally watch at this time. If this does not resolve the situation, I recommend you contact your manufacturer’s product support line.

Thank you,
Jason,

My hisense uhd 4K 58” smart tv . Has stopped connecting to YouTube. Despite it being connected to WiFi hotspot

Most likely you need to update either Play store or Play services. If you open the play store app on your TV and select "my apps" look for the updates and see if there is an update available.

What is the difference between UHD and 4K tv

Ultra HD and 4K difference...Technically, "Ultra High Definition" is actually a derivation of the 4K digital cinema standard. However while your local multiplex shows images in native 4096 x 2160 4K resolution, the new Ultra HD consumer format has a slightly lower resolution of 3840 X 2160...Hope this helps
