SOURCE: tv volume goes down of its own accord

Hi,

Some dust in the button to lower the volume on your TV or on your remote control might be causing it to think it's being pressed. Try playing around with it, pressing it hard so as to relieve it of any pressure on the inside.

SOURCE: Remote volume control for Sharp Aquos 42inch LCD not working

User 'rapolley' is absolutely right. One can cycle through the functions to access different options, ie. 'TV', 'Audio', 'DVD', etc. I stumbled upon this solution when I thought my 'Menu' button wasn't working. All I had to do is cycle through the 'Functions' and choose 'Menu' once I get to 'TV'. Thanks!

SOURCE: Amp powers on but sub does not come on

I would double-check your RCA's on the amplifier. You should hear a thud if you unplug them. If not they are either not hooked up or defective.

SOURCE: Toshiba (Model : 36A43) - volume goes down automatically

I am having same problem on 32 inch same problem. After playing with board with no results,I tried front buttons and found that if I held the power button in ever so slighItly as not to turn it off, it fixed problem which is the micro on/off switch, I removed the switch and used the remote and everything is back to normal, I am about to insall a used micro switch after I finish typing this but I am sure this will clear up volume problen and menu going crazy problem if not I will just leave micro switch out and use the remote, and I will get back to this board only if that micro switch still causes the problem, so if I don't post in next hour the problem is fixed and I'm more than glad to help.

I have a MTS surround sound system and when i put the volume up the woofer turns off. whats wrong with it? and how can i fix that

Seems you are over driving the unit and causing it to overheat and the protective circuits are kicking in. U need a more powerful system to play at the volumes you want.

Does the sub work at all? How is it hooked up? The sub needs to be fed by an RCA cable from the Subwoofer Output jack for the receiver to control its output.

If i increase the sub woofer volume the voice distorts and gives a buzzing sound. it works fine on low volume

Your sub woofer is not mean for voice sound...check that you have connected the systen up properly and that you have put the sub woofer into its wn connection..if it is in the right connection the woofer could be blown.also try decrease the midrange hurts on the woofer

YAMAHA AV receiver RX-V861 I have the message 'Vol-fix' appearing on Zone 2 and no sound. This was working fine until then

Setting the RX-V861 remote control to operate Zone 2:
  1. Using a ballpoint pen or similar object and press the [CODE SET] button RX-V861 remote control. The[TRANSMIT INDICATOR]on the remote should flash twice.
  2. Using the [NUMERICAL KEY PAD] on the remote and key in 9992, the [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] should flash.
Assigning the receivers internal amp for Zone 2:
  1. Set the remote control selector to [AMP]. (Located to the right of the volume buttons on the Remote.).
  2. Press the [SET MENU]button on the remote control.
  3. Arrow down to Manual Setup and press the Enter button on the remote control.
  4. Arrow to the [SOUND MENU] option and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  5. Arrow to Speaker Set and press the [ENTER] button on the remote control.
  6. Arrow to the EXTRA SP ASSIGN and select ZONE2
  7. Press the [RETURN] button on the remote control to exit out and return to the Manual Setup.
NOTES: There is an option for setting the Maximum Volume and Initial Volume in the Zone Set menu.
  • Max Volume: This is an optional feature but isrecommended to prevent the accidental change in volume levels thatcould damage the speakers and receiver.
  • Initial Volume: This is also a great feature that would seamlessly start the volume level for the second or third zone at the desired level.
We do not recommend using any Speaker Selector boxes to enable more than the recommended number of speakers per terminal.
Controlling Zone 2 using the RX-V861 remote control:
  1. If the Main Zone on the receiver is on, press the [POWER BUTTON]down and while holding that button down press the [PHONO]/[**] button on the remote. The [TRANSMIT INDICATOR] will light up.
  2. You will not be able to use the following buttons on the remote: (Pressing any other button will cause the remote to exit Zone 2 mode. [POWER], [STANDBY], [VOLUME], [MUTE] and the [INPUT SELECTOR] buttons [DVD], [CD], etc.)

I have an Alpine CDA-9815 head unit installed in a 2002 Dodge Dakota. I currently have a 12" DVC sub bridged at 4 Ohms. My head unit's volume goes up to 35. When i turn in past 24-25, the head unit...

It sounds like the sub woofer amplifier is pulling down the voltage level in the truck when it starts to get really loud. It may be the voltage regulator which is probably part of the alternator, or the alternator is not capable of supplying the needed current for the amplifier. If the voltage level drops below a certain level, the radio will see it as if the battery is disconnected. It requires a voltage level of around at least 10 volts to stay turned on. When an amplifier is playing loud, it draws a lot of current. If the current supply does not increase, it lowers the voltage level to compensate and get the current it needs to play at the level the head unit is pushing it to. As the voltage level goes down, the current increases when the voltage is dropping due to increased demand. You could check this with a voltage meter and monitor the level right at the battery and have somebody turn the volume up on the head unit slowly as you monitor the voltage level. The normal operating voltage of a car while the engine is running is about 14.4 volts. It should not drop much at all, no matter how loud the amplifier is playing. if it does drop, you have a problem with the trucks regulator or alternator.

I hope this helps, if you need more assistance let me know.

Klipsch subwoofer

its all about impedance matching...did you check to see that the new yamahas would drive from the system, before installing them? sounds like you will need to possibly add a matching transformer or other device on this one.
