Depending on the version you have , there is either a key labelled "upper" or there is a button with a "123" on it that cycles modes from letter to numbers to upper case to lower case etc or I have been told there is a button labled "!@#" which apparently does the same thing.

i might be wrong on this one, but all motorola's are mostly the same on texting. Soto get a capital letter in text just press the 0 before the letter

You did not specify if it was a manual or electric or the model, so assuming it is a standard manual or electric machine, push down on the shift key and hold it, then type your letter or letters. If you are typing everything in caps, press the shift lock key.

I have the same keyboard and mouse that I got new with the computer. Shortly after it arrived my keyboard started adding characters. HP sent me a new keyboard and all has been fine.
