700LC will not spin

The older Hoover had a problem with the clutch drive seizing. Sometimes it was caused by the aluminium housing on the gearbox breaking or cracking. When this happens, the clutch pawl doesn't release the clutch gear properly. The clutch stays in the locked position and then it wont allow the tub to spin. Its not often the top bearing fails. A common sign of gearbox / clutch failure is a brown oily stain spread all over the inside of the cabinet in line with the bottom of the gearbox. This means that the gearbox has slowly filled with water through a failed gearbox seal and when it gets to this stage, its not an economical repair. Time for a new washer unfortunately.

Washer won't agitate or spin

Hello there and welcome to fixya
there are several things that you will need to check first ok please verrify the following
It doesn't pump or spin
If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:
If the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley or a broken pump belt. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it. If the pump belt is broken or looks quite worn, replace it--but be sure to check the pump pulley before you change the belt.
If the motor isn't running, the lid switch may be defective. If so, the washing machine can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Model GLTF167A0S0 Serial XC22704657... The final spin frequently doesn't work. I tried another wash cycle and the "high speed" spin didn't work. I can manually start the cycle and it...

If the water is pumping out fine you may need new shocks. But if it is slow pump the shaft on the pump is loose and causing the noise and possibly the spin issue. If it is loud when it does go into a spin (sounds like a jet engine) you have bad bearings. Big bucks to fix.
