First lets determine where the sound is missing. What are you using for sound. RCA jacks? HDMI cable? If you are using the HDMI cable, please make sure the correct sound is selected in the Cable box. In New York Cable Box, The HDMI sound has to be selected in order to get sound using the HDMI cable. Hoping that all other settings are ok, You may need a new signal board. Part Number BN94-00629R. Average Cost $176.14

I would go to menu on the remote , from there to picture go down the list, if you do not find anything there to help you. Go to Support and to the E manual .

Samsung 40" flat screen looses sound
this problem started on my LN-S4051D a couple of years ago. eventually the sound stopped working altogether. I then started using my surround sound speakers for the TV via optical out but soon that stopped working as well. I recently took the TV to a repair shop who said that the main board is bad and needs to be replaced. Labor plus parts was going to cost me $400. I said no thanks and paid for the estimate. Samsung LE37R888D LCD TV. No sound from the main speakers or Line out.
Hi,
    This problem arises due to cross pin connection of the headphone socket.Mostly frequent use of the headphones result this situation (no sound via external speakers). Call any service man he will provide you the services at nominal charges. And if you can do it by yourself then approach to the headphone section and just adjust the headphone pin, This will solve the problem.

Samsung LN46B550 no picture only sound 3 days old
hey Adam i have a samsung that has been doing that.it would come on then after a few minutes the picture would go ou but the sound still worked.i found that one of the connectors that plugs into the LCD board had a broken solder joint were it connects to the back lighting .just unplug your lcd connections if its bad you'll know it because it will come out.

if ur surround hasnt got digital in then it wont work also its better to use the red white and yellow wire, i have hdmi and them wires hooked up and i have sound through everythin all i have to do is put it on aux 2, try it out
