That does not look like a flat screen set - am I correct?
It is a flat screen. The model is Olevia 237-T12. It is from year 2008. Curved LCDs did not exist at the time.
T con board digitizes pictures to be viewed. When that board has issues all sorts of crazy stuff appears on the screen from pixelization to lines, etc.

If still under warranty, take it back. but first check your cable input connections or cable signal may have went bad. Lastly it could be the signal module inside.
SOURCE: projection horizontal lines and flickering
This is the problem I had with a couple of my projectors, one of them I just replaced the bulb and the other needed whole new brains (controller board)

If you can’t get the manufacturer to fix it or send you the parts you may want to try and fix it yourself. I found a guy in South Carolina who sells good used parts and will give you some suggestions on how to do it yourself. I bought a LCD from him for $39.00, fixed it myself and it works great. I think his email is [email protected]
SOURCE: RCA TV flickering problem
Help! I have an RCA 40 inch HDTV (Model# D40W20). I've had it since 2005. Recently, the picture will flicker when I turn it on, but will stop flickering after a few minutes. My brother has the 52 inch model and his tv did the same thing before it broke down completely. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Just unplug and plug back in. Worked for me.
Try it a few times.
May not work for everyone.
