Kindly check your temprature settings and ventilation of outdoor unit. Your compressor is getting hot either due to low ventilation or your temprature settings are too high to cool.

you need to put a set of gages on the unit and check the Freon amount

in dehumidifier modes work like in cool mode..try in cool mode too see if it work

the compressor has an internal overlod inside of it after 115 degress it opens and wont start till it cools down below 115 unplug and try putting ice cubes on top of com pessor to cool it down otherwise it will take hours to cool off

make sure the coils are clean both evaporator and condenser,then if there is a capacitor in the motor circuitry,check this,finally if the coils frost,then clear up and frost and clear up time and again,this is a sign of low refrigerant R134a,and this also will make the compressor run hot

if the compressor is really running (not just the fan) and it doesnt cool the evaporator coils then it has lost its refrigerant (likely r134a) .. thats a special job to repair.. there also has to be a leak that must be repaired .. then the system is refilled and possibly a dryer added .. if the fan is running only, then there are many other possibilities .. .. you shouldnt run the unit long since part of the cooling for the compressor comes from the refrigerant .. it will shorten its life if run a long time without it ..

After all that testing you have diagnosed the problem. It is the main circuit board. So there is not reason to do any more test. I would just get a new control board and off you go

If the compressor is getting really hot it's more than likely SHOT.
There is a small possibility you have a bad overload/start relay.
But compressors do not like getting hot.
