SOURCE: Jenn-Air JJW8530 LCD panel does not light up

BrianGem posted a great solution back in May of '08, I just completed that fix on my own Jenn air, took me about 30 minutes once I got the correct capacitor.
The display board apparently has a weak spot in the
design, most likely heat related, (probably low priced components from offshore sources)
Fix: Replace heat damaged capacitor labeled C3 on display board, Hard part will be obtaining the 35Volt 68uF capacitor, I'm lucky enough to have a Brother in the electronics design field who found me a couple of high reliability caps designed for hot applications, He does not recommend changing sizes without design review for fear of overloading another component, however several other posts have indicated that a 35V 100mF cap has worked fine for them.

TURN OFF POWER TO OVEN PRIOR TO STARTING ANY REPAIRS.
My control panel was attached to the oven with 4 screws accessed from above the top oven door, the panel slid up about 1/2 " and lifted off, Unplug the ribbon cables and the panel can be removed to a convenient work surface. The display board itself is mounted with 4 screws and connected with a wide flat ribbon cable, the suspect capacitor is surface mounted to the reverse side of the board, two plastic clips need to be released (gently) and the ribbon cable unplugged. Capacitor is likely discolored or leaking, Using as small a soldering iron as you can find De-solder it and replace with new, match polarity marks and don’t use any more solder than needed.
If you run into trouble drop me an e-mail to [email protected] and I’ll try to help.
Good luck.
Thanks for this site..

SOURCE: AMANA SINGLE CONVECTION OVEN CONTROL PANEL SOME KEYS INOP

Have had the same trouble with this oven. The control pad starts beeping, and I have had an error code F1, and others. I have replaced this panel once before. I saw an internet site that said it was the control pad being mounted to closely to the metal housing, and it actually has a hole worn in it from where the metal rubs on the pad. I took the pad out, and actually peeled the plastic cover off of the control board, and wiped all the contacts with alcohol. No idea why, but that fixed it....I carefully placed the sticky cover back on the control board, and re-installed. It is scary peeling that plastic skin off, but t will come off if you go slow.

My parents are getting an F3 on their Amana gas stove. This stove is about 9 years old. Not sure of the model. The burners are working fine, but they cannot use the oven. Any ideas? Many thanks!!

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F3 error code indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

F1 Error code for Amana indicates a failed electronic range control (ERC)... that's the main computer behind the keypad. Post back with the exact model number and I'll assist with part number and replacement procedures.

My oven still doesnt work after replacing heating element

it could either be a hot spot in the element where it can no longer pass all the current needed for proper operation in heating(look for a discolored spot on it,it may be whitish and dimpled from heat) or secondly,it could be the oven thermocouple located on the inside top of the oven cavity

When i use the oven it stays hot after turned off. front panel, right under the touch buttons gets very hot.

This oven has an oven vent that comes out under the control panel usually to the right. Very poor design as this vents heat into the controls and can cause a control board failure, especially during a self cleaning cycle. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

Amana EvenAir Convection Plus Self Cleaning Oven will not unlock.

My oven was locked and would not open. No lock light was on but the oven was clearly locked. F9 error when I hit certain buttons.

Try this. I unplugged the oven for about 5 minutes. Plugged back in. A LOCK light came on. Held down "Oven Cancel" for a few seconds. Door opened and lock light went off. No more F9 error when I hit those buttons.
