Is your sub single voice coil or dual? If it's dual, is it wired in paralel or series? It's possible for an amp the heat up so fast, the outside is not hot to the touch. Also, the next time it happens, use a paperclip and short the 12+ to the remote wire on the amp and see if it comes on. Let me know, and be sure to leave feedback or I don't get paid

SOURCE: mtx

Well it could be that your ears just got used to the bass. It happend to me after about a week of haveing my subs. And make sure that your power wire hasnt got melted somewhere. also that you have good ground.

SOURCE: i have a mtx x1000d and i cant get the remote bass to work

These units usually are "smart", as when you are all the way down the received input is too low to activate the control and when you are all the way up it is protecting the amp and your ears.

Mtx tna251 amp has bass remote that has a light glowing but turn knob up and down and no difference like simply not working no difference in bass? Posible causes,

It is actually in the controller, if you turn the remote all the way down and press on the controller until the bass goes off, you will be able to turn the bass up and down with the remote, mine worked but stopped after a month, I tried adjusting the amp but then I noticed that if I wiggled the knob on the remote that it would work, I mashed mine until it worked again and velcroed it to my console sonibcan get it on and off easily.

I have a system installed and i have mtx speakers plus mtx subwoofers i want to know how could i take the bass of the speakers because it sounds horrible when loud

if you turn the bass setting in your radio down it will take the bass out, but may take some of the bass out of the subs as well, if this occurs and you still are not satified, you either have to get a car receiver with a non fading subwoofer preout, or you could get bass blockers for all the speakers you dont want the bass in

If none of the lights are coming on for the amp then the amp is not getting power and/or ground. Check the connections. Check the fuses. Or the amp is no good.

When i plug the phonejack style bass controller in all the bass quits and as soon as i unplug it the bass come back instantly. also, next to the spot where you plug the bass controller to the amp there is...

I am guessing the bass control is just a potentiometer that you plug in. It could be open and that is why the bass dies. As far as the switch goes, I am not familiar with the amp but it sounds like a crossover between low frequency and subsonic frequency.

Subs will go off the wall with bass, but not in tune with music.

hi, first disconnect the rca input, then switch on headunit and if the amp produces a constant bass thump it then means it has an internal fault. if the amp idles quietly then replace the rca cable, or try connecting the headunit lineout feed directly to the bass amp, in this way you cud find out if your fault is coming from the headunit or the equaliser. cheers
