I have a toshiba LED TV 46L5200U. I have sound but the screen goes black after a few minutes. There are no back lights but I can see an image with the flashlight test.

I've replaced the T-con board but have the same problem. Could it be the LED driver. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: Samsung TV goes Black but keeps sound

you will need to check weather the 24vdc supply for the inverter board is good no drop voltage. if no supply check the power supply board. then you should check if their is a inv_on signal at the power inverter board around 3v-4.4vdc . if goes out during power on tried to disconnect the supply going to the inverter board to ensure if their is a shorted parts in the inverter board. if the inverter_on signal also goes out even with out inverter board connected that was mean you have problem in the processor board.

SOURCE: 47' (sic) LED TV, model number m470vse. Why doesn't the backlight work?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.

SOURCE: On my Hisense 50K23DG LED TV, I have sound but no picture.

Hi,
Hisense TV's usually use PCB Boards by Vestel and not Hisense themselves, have a look at: Vestel Help If the Boards in your Hisense match this Board/Part Number format at least you'll know what to search for, replacing the power supply will not help unless the process has been incorporated into the power supply and that is not known for certain yet

SOURCE: When testin a power supply or led board on tv do i test dc or ac with multimeter?

Your power supply board is working if you get audio and imgaes.

You test AC only the AC side of the transformer before the Rectifier Diodes. Everything after the Diodes will be in DC.

did you get to see any spec of backlight as shown in

Will the LED backlights glow even when one LED is not working?when i switch ON tv,the toshiba logo displayed for a second and then it goes off.Flash light test on black screen shows images though.

I don't know your TV but are you sure that it is an "LED" TV? If not, it may be an "LCD" TV which is a bit different. An "LED" TV uses Light Emitting Diodes to illuminate the individual pixels or PIcture ELementS. If it is an "LCD" TV, the picture works more like an electronic digital watch. The picture is produced within the screen and uses a florescent tube on the bottom and side to back light the screen. If you can see the picture with a flashlight, I suspect that it is an "LCD" type. If it was an "LED" TV, and it didn't light up, the LED's that make up the pixels wouldn't be firing and you wouldn't be seeing a picture even with a flashlight. Just like any florescent light tube, these "LCD" back light tubes will dim with age until they eventually fail. If the Toshiba logo lights and goes out, this sounds like the bulbs or their high voltage drivers are failing. Good luck.

What Circuit board is needed to fix this TV?

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

46L5200U LED back light shuts down after about two minutes. You can see picture using a light source sound is also fine.

There should be some fault with its back-light inverter board. Either it do fail to work after some time, or it losses supply voltage after some time. You should check both these possibilities. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.
